Nelson Lake Wi Fishing Report

may 21 was a washout, rain was comin down hard! still, went out to see what was biting. managed to land a few small fish, but mostly just got soaked. like, really soaked! shoulda stayed home, but hey, it’s fishing, right? not every day is a big catch day.

so like may 11 was epic! sunny, warm, and the fish were biting. i tried out my new baitcaster and caught a hefty walleye! must've been around 7lbs. i was so pumped, couldn’t stop smiling. the wind picked up but i just steered the boat with my foot, and it all worked out! awesome day.

5/7 was partly cloudy and perfect for fishing! took my brother out and we got in a ton of casts near the reeds. ended up with 4 nice crappies, kept one for dinner. used a little jig head with a plastic tail. overall a chill day, just the two of us on the lake.

sunshine on the 4th was amazing! got to nelson lake early, like around 5:45 am. used my favorite topwater frog and BOOM! 5 bass in just a few hours! caught a nice one that was 6lbs. i love the thrill of topwater action. even got a sunburn, LOL!

fished on may 3rd, cloudy but not too cold. found a nice spot near the east shore with my buddy. we got some bites, but ended up with just one 4lb bass. used a buzzbait and it was cool watching it slash through the water! we laughed a lot, def a good day out.
