morehead Fishing Report 2025

Mike Pritchad called in with this report for the Tribute. "We're just wrapping up our 2.5 Day trip. We have had absolutely fabulous fishing. We caught limits of Yellowtail, 6 Skipjack, 5 Dorado, 69 Yellowfin tuna, & 110 Bluefin. It looks like there is more Yellowfin tuna coming up the line.

Hello everybody. Good times this morning on the sea anchor. Biting bluefin tuna with a smattering of nice yellowtail to start off our day made breakfast taste that much better for everyone who attended the meal call. A half pound breakfast burrito tastes just a little better after pulling on fish for a couple hours after the sunrises. Anyhow, we had another decent day today of catching bluefin and yellowfin, mostly on blind jig strikes, and shaking off "neck-tie" yellowtail and dorado's to fill in the gaps when the tuna had their noses in the mud. For the most part, their noses stayed in that mud but when they did pop up, we made the most of it with some quality tuna fish.

Another solid day made for the decision to head coastal and see if we can't find us some yellowtail's with some size to them. We'll give this offshore scene another try later but for now, we're going to get out of the wind for a bit and give the anglers a change of scenery. We'll fill you in on our day tomorrow evening. Arrived at our fishing destination today at 9:30am. As soon as we put the anchor down we were going full speed on a very nice grade of yellowtail. The small ones were 16 lbs. and then went up to over 30 lbs. The weather again is beautiful.. We headed up the line and got to where we were going before dark to fish a couple hours for rock cod and then we headed west into the offshore mode. Scallops and fresh yellowtail for dinner. Good evening sports fans from the bridge of the Supreme. Today was yet another day off shore. We were busy all day long bendo on tuna mostly  jumping from bird school to bird school with quite a bit of fish on the machines too. Chapparo's group always brings it every year when it comes to putting in time at the rail, even when Chef Mike nearly puts us to sleep with his thick juicy cheese burgers and homemade fries for lunch. Nobody wimped and took a nap after that big plate of food, we were all right back at it keeping the rods bent. That really sums up the day, exceptional tuna fishing and a tasty half pound rosemary chicken dinner with rice, green beans and stuffing topped with whole gralic cloves followed by bannana foster for dessert. All and all great day, beautiful weather and we hope the weather mans forecast stays true for good weather for the next 2 days. Til tomorrow friends, good night to all, and to all a good night.

ISLANDS ARE ON THE MEND ! 35 yellowtail (12-25 lbs) on the boat so far for just 20 anglers. Flylined Sardines on 25 & 30 lb monofilament has been the best. Stay tuned for a final report.

Hello Everyone, Today we targeted yellowtail.Unfortunately there was no current. The lack of current made fishing difficult. We did manage to pick off a couple of Yellowfin tuna and a few Dorado. In addition to that we caught some nice Lingcod and Rockfish in the meantime. We will spend our last day trying for that school grade bluefin. Wish us luck! Team Supreme

Hello there Polaris Supreme fans,

 

Today started off with a bang! around daybreak a 110 pounder comes over the rail! and a few other smaller grade tuna were landed, then out of nowhere we loose our current but that didn't  stop us, We put out the jigs and went into search mode and found what we were looking for WAHOO!!, willing to bite and keep us busy most of the morning and into the late afternoon, with still no current and the wahoo backing off somewhat, back into search mode again we started seeing bird schools in a a different area that looked very promising, we took a tour of the new area and saw plenty of life! In this new area even the bait wanted to bite, so after filling two tanks of big bait we settled in for the night with high hopes for the early morning bite!
