April 24, 2024 miss barnegat light Fishing Report

Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an update from the San Diego. Today Captain Cameron ran the boat. We had 32 anglers catch 97 Yellowtail. We also had some Barracuda and Bonito. We have are having great weather today and in the near future.

April 23, 2024 miss barnegat light Fishing Report

We had an ok day here at Guadalupe. Caught some yellowtail with 3 hitting around 30lbs. We also got some excellent grade yellowfin tuna 55-60 pounders. Dinner was a scrumptious Cornish game hen with a rosemary glaze. Martin who works in the office at the landing supplied Pedro with bags full of fresh herbs and peppers from his garden. Thanks Martin! We've had great weather here and certainly enjoyed fishing the island. We will fish tomorrow until about 9am and then head for home.
We should be at the dock Thursday morning at 8:30am. Two spots open on the Sept. 8 if you can get away. Boss won't let you go? Heck, bring him with you.

April 21, 2024 miss barnegat light Fishing Report

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this morning with an update form the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. The boat is out today we haven’t heard from them yet. We caught 4 Bluefin Tuna over 100 pounds. This is once in a lifetime opportunity. We only have a handful of reservations for tomorrow. We are a definite go! Please be sure to be prepared with a heavy rod. We recommend at least a 50 pound outfit. You can also bring a lighter outfit for the Yellowtail. Listen to the audio for all tackle details. April 19, 2024 miss barnegat light Fishing Report

Captain Mike Pritchard checked back in at 11:27 AM. We have been having tough conditions. We just landed a Bluefin Tuna that taped out at 133 pounds. We have nine fish on board. We have had a lot of lost fish. Getting them on the boat has proven to be difficult. Be sure to bring your heavy tackle. I would suggest 30#, 40#, 50# and 80$ outfits. With flourocarbon leader and circle hooks. We have spots departing tomorrow. We would love to go fishing with you. Call Seaforth Sportfishing at (619) 224-3383 to get in on the action.

April 18, 2024 miss barnegat light Fishing Report

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. Today we had 24 anglers catch 1 Yellowtail, 1 Bonito, 30 Barracuda and 44 Rockfish. We see schools of Yellowtail but most of them are totally addicted to one inch anchovy and difficult to hook. We are going to stick with the Islands for awhile and tomorrow is a definite go.

April 17, 2024 miss barnegat light Fishing Report

 "Just what the doctor ordered".  We had a great afternoon out here on the Polaris Supreme today.  It was a slow morning but a strong afternoon.  We started where we had to.  For one we were there at sunrise and for two we had to keep it honest due to the previous good fishing there several days ago.  It wasn't happening so we took off and arrived to the promise land after lunch.  It started off with a wahoo strike that turned into a wide open tuna bite with wahoo mixed in too.  We ended that drift with 14 skin and 60+ tuna.  Action baby.  Just what we needed after yesterday.  After that we were in full wahoo mode but they were hanging with the tuna so while we would catch wahoo we"d catch tuna too.  The perfect scenario until you have limits of tuna.  We're not quite there yet but we're close.  We opted to stay another day to finish off our tuna quota and see if we can get some more wahoo.  That also gives the Rocks another days rest as well.

 The wind finally backed off today.  For the past few days we had windy/choppy weather with a current going against it which adds to the choppiness and makes anchor fishing uncomfty.  We handled it those days but today it was just nice.  We're all stoked.  Like I said, "just what the doctor ordered".
