Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an audio update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We have been fishing down the beach and the Yellowtail are biting really good on the surface iron and fly-lined baits. Today we had 51 anglers catch 240 Yellowtail (10 to 25 pounds). It's been a fun couple of weeks. Don't miss out on this opportunity. We fish every day and depart at 5:30 AM.

Our private charter had passports and wanted to fish the islands so we enjoyed a day of stop and go action. They were rewarded with 73 yellowtail 68 bonito. Back offshore tomorrow.

 Well we had some action today.  We fished our wahoo/tuna honey hole.  It wasn't red hot but we made some drifts and caught some fish.  Our last couple schools we saw before lunch didn't react so we took a tour.  We found some tuna a couple hours into the tour.  The bigger ones.  The 25-35 pounders but we weren't ready.  Some were napping or lounging.  It hit us quick.  Everyone that made it out hooked up but it didn't last long.  We got on a couple of more deals after that but they were smaller fish.  12 pounders so we continued on our tour.  We looked for yellowtail in the afternoon but like everywhere right now it seems, there wasn't any current. 
  The weather straightened out for us today.  It was nice again.  We have one day left to fish and we want to do it catching yellowtail.  The elusive yellowtail.  That's usually the fish we don't have trouble finding but we've struck out this trip on them thus far.  We have about 30.  We want more so that's what we'll do.  From where we'll be fishing we can fish until lunch but then we have to hit the road for home.
       
 

37 anglers, 10 yellowtail, 18 bonito, and 48 rockfish. We will be at the dock for the next few days while our first real weather rolls in.  We are online till the end of December. Make those reservations.

Hi friends. Yesterday, it was a sad day for Raider nation and eleven years ago today, it was a sad day for our nation. A day that we will never forget and with the sadness and pain came unity and strength. We pay or respects to those lost on September 11th of 2001 and we pay respects to the military --past and present-- that fought for our freedom and still continue to fight today. Thank you, from the Polaris Supreme.

Anyhow, the weather was fantastic. We caught good yellowtail this morning and we had jigs behind the boat for most of the day while we made our way up the line to get setup for tomorrow. We actually had to pull in the jigs on numerous occasions because the football yellowfin were so relentless. We're after trophies now and it sounds like there are some schools of big yellowfin running around. We'll see if we can't get on a school to end our trip on a grand note. Hi friends. Our week consisted of us mainly preparing for the final major painting projects to be completed. We completed the necessary steps for the bait tank and bus stop to receive a new paint job. Tomorrow, Jamie and myself will be down at the boat to scuff up the first coat of gloss, wipe down, and hang out as the painters finish up the final coat. We'll have Sunday off and then on Monday, it'll be time to hustle up and get the boat back in the water. A few other chores on the list before we say farewell to Knight & Carver Yacht Center include sanding the rails to be refinished at another time, put the liferafts back on the boat, install all the new zincs and pray the we're back in the water Tuesday or Wednesday. Drew, Tommie, Mark, Jamie and myself are really looking forward to getting the boat back in the water and once back at the docks, our dirtiest chores are pretty much over and all the remains are little "knick knack" cosmetic things, putting the new freezer box on the upper deck, painting the deck, refinishing the rails and a few mechanical repairs. We're starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and it's a beautiful sight.

In other news, Jed went under the knife on Thursday to have his tendon repaired in his thumb and all went well and from what he said, it will be six to eight weeks of recovery time followed by some physical therapy. Jed's doing just fine and here's to a speedy recovery to have him back on the boat sometime in August.

With that, our weekend is looking good for some relaxation, Clippers/Lakers game sevens, Kings/Coyotes hockey and the Gator By the Bay festival at Spanish Landing in San Diego Bay. We hope you all enjoy your weekend as well. Take care everyone!

This is amazing we have fished 6 days out of 6 days. We fished 4 days in California and 2 days in Mexico and caught over half a dozen different game species. We wrapped up today in California fishing Bluefin and Yellowfin with good success. The top 3 fish at the scales will be bluefin. Thanks Tom Chaparro and gang for a great trip.
