Polaris Supreme Trip Update 12-06-2018 We took a break today from tuna fishing and concentrated mainly on yellowtail and had fair success. Mostly 14 to 15 pounder grade with a few 20 pounders thrown in. We have had a great time here at Guadalupe on our OTR seven-day but now it's time to head for home. So far our ride is beautiful in calm seas! We will be clearing Ensenada tomorrow around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Capt Ryan Bostain called in from the San Diego, they headed offshore again however the tuna were not willing to bite. We spent most of the day in pursuit of tuna and ended they day with 12 mixed tuna, which was 9 Bluefin Tuna and 3 Yellowfin. We decided to start looking for kelp fish later in the day and found some willing Yellowtail, the final tally was 130. They were not huge, mostly from 7 to 12 pounds, plenty good enough for the many beginners to offshore fishing. Capt Ryan Bostain checked in from the San Diego the 3/4 day boat out Seaforth Sportfishing, we just finished up our second trip of the year. And boy was it a good one, we had Mexican limits of 110 Yellowtail for our 22 anglers. Most fish were caught on the yoyo jig, we did get some on the surface irio but you had to wotk hard for the surface bite. Our private charter had to display some good old fashioned patience today. In a typical 3/4 day trip we can expect to make about 3-5 moves thru ought the day looking for fish. Today however, we did not find what we were looking for until our 9th stop of the day. The rapidly changing conditions coupled with the short windows of biting fish have been driving yours truly crazy the past couple of days. Today's photo will show you why we have been putting ourselves thru such mental anguish. Today's final count for our 31 passengers is 11 yellowtail 20 calico bass 16 barracuda 7 rockfish. Our yellowtail today weighed 20-35 pounds and were biting the fly lined sardines the best.

Hello Everyone, Today was a great day on the tuna grounds. We had an un-real sun downer bite on Bluefin Tuna in the 40 lb range. Complete chaos, an absolute ripper on fly lined sardine, until the sun went down. Once darkness settled in, it turned into a Flat fall ripper. Landing the Tuna on the jigs was was much nicer on the heavy gear. In addition to the Bluefin we landed 2 50 lb Yellowfin Tuna. Great grade fish. Excellent day on an excellent charter. We had some good fishing on the yellows today around 12-18 pounds with some at 25 lbs. We released 100's of smaller ones.

There was plenty of action. The guys are having a great time. Our weather is ok not great, not bad. There is a little bit better sign of albacore. They are improving from what it has been recently. We will fish the yellowtail again tomorrow and save the last couple of days for tuna fishing. For dinner we had turkey breast with sausage bread stuffing and a sage wine sauce. We were on bluefin and yellowfin all day but they were difficult to hook. 8 bluefin tuna from 25-80 lbs and 2 yellowfin. Most of our fish were hooked on flylined sardines on 30 or 40 lb.
