POLARIS SUPREME TRIP REPORT 09-18-2020 Nice morning fishing 18 to 22 lb. Yellowtail in more great weather. We ended our fishing part of the trip just before lunch and will be traveling home all day tomorrow. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Well the weather has kicked up a little and it's a little bumpy. We will be at the dock at 6:00 am tomorrow. Come down and say hi if you can. We will be in until Thursday Nov. 8 when we depart on Lon Mikkleson's OTR charter. There are still spots available if you want to come with us.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 09-09-2019 This morning the bite started out early. We caught quite a bit of variety, an Amoco Jack, sum Pargo, an Amberjack, and the yellowfin tuna were still present! As daylight came around the skipjack slowly took over but not before we made a nice day out of it on yellowfin tuna with a few Wahoo sprinkled in. Guys are having a great time and our weather is beautiful. The Polaris supreme crew!

July 29

We had a descent morning and a descent evening. It was the in between part that stunk for us. From about 9 till 5 we caught and saw nothing. But in the morning it was steady stopping and after 5 we drifted catching fish until after dark so all in all I'd call it a good day. The fish were yellowfin tunas and we're still pulling on one as I write this and that's all I have to say about that. We're going to run up into American waters tonight and try for the Bluefins and the yellowfins tomorrow for our last day of this trip.

Brynn, Brynn, Brynn. Yes you. You sweet little 17 month old you. Your daddy says hi and he misses you and he loves you very much. I know you can read this. I have a sister in law named Brenna. Close enough.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-17-2016 #2 I meant to send this picture of the fathom meter this morning but I forgot about it. This is a screenshot of our fathom meter last night when we hooked the 115 pounder that Jack caught. You can see these Bluefin like to hang between 26 to 40 fathoms. That's pretty darn deep. If you look up towards the upper part of the screen, you will see two flat straight lines. One of them is in the middle of the screen at about 4 fathoms and the other is on the left side at about 11 fathoms. That is somebody under the boat using a live bait sinker rig. Also in the center of the screen you'll see a forward slash. It is light in color and broken up starting at about 4 fathoms going down to 12 fathoms. That is somebody winding a jig up. If you look between 7 to 13 fathoms you'll see a jig someone is dropping down. The point I want to make is that these fish are typically deep and you need to be able to get your bait or jig down into the deeper water columns where these fish are at. Knowing this you should be using those big heavy jigs or heavy torpedo sinker to increase your chances of hooking one of these trophy fish. The tuna did not show up. A couple of us saw schools that did not cooperate at all. We picked up a few yellowtail on kelp patties and a handful yellowfin tuna for the day. We are heading home to regroup. We would like to thank Archie Steele and the gang for joining us we had a great time with the crew and some fantastic fishing the first part of the trip. Good morning everyone, We got a great early start on our Simpatico five day trip. Our intentions were to have an opportunity to catch some of these larger local Bluefin Tuna. However the action slowed and it did not pencil out as we hoped. There is some pretty bad weather rolling up today and is supposed to be here tomorrow. We are probably going to try some inshore fishing somewhere tomorrow to stay clear of the weather and pull on some fish at the same time. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Hi friends. Great morning for us here on the Supreme. We worked our way up to the Yellowfin zone last night/early this morning and we were pleasantly surprised when we woke up on the grounds to find good working weather. With that, we got on a school this morning that produced easy Mexican daily limits for us in one stop. The grade of fish was 18-25 lbs. with a few bigger and smaller mixed in, they bit really well for us.

What turned on in the afternoon was the weather and we're presently bumping up the line to finish off our trip on Bluefin tomorrow. The boats in the area reported excelent, scores so we're hoping to use up the rest of our energy on the BFT's manana before we have to call it a trip.

Anyways, the passengers are doing fine; downstairs watching "Eastbound and Down" and getting ready to eat some of Chef Shawn's Asian-inspired ribs and hunker down for the remainder of the evening. We'll see how our weather shapes up but it's supposed to come down. We'll see. We'll chat with you tomorrow for a wrap-up report.

This past winter the San Diego family lost one of its most beloved members. Mike Morrison known as “Iron Mike” was a dedicated regular who loved chasing bluefin and always kept positive outlook whether he caught one or not. Today his brother landed a 145 pounder and it had Mikes name written on the belly. This fish was one of 18 landed. The other 17 were 60-80 pounders.
