Lake Monticello Texas Fishing Report

crazy weather on May 17, major rain came through while we were out there! still managed to pull in 3 nice bass, all around 3-4 lbs. felt like an adventure with the storms! used a spinnerbait, worked well despite conditions.

fished on May 15, patchy rain again but I was optimistic! got lucky and landed a big channel catfish, like 7 lbs! used cut bait and was fishing off the shoreline. had a blast, even with the rain trying to ruin it!

finally had a sunny day on May 13! temp was perfect at 27 degrees. went early and got into a school of crappie near the docks, caught around 10 total! used small jigs, they were hungry. great day, can’t beat it!

took the kids out on May 10, same patchy rain deal. we caught 4 bluegill and lost a couple big ones at the boat. had fun even though the weather was iffy. they used bobber and worms, classic setup. perfect family day on the water!

hit the lake on May 9 with my buddy, it was cloudy and a bit drizzly but we did alright! caught 6 bass between us, biggest was 4 lbs. kept it simple with texas rigged worms. it was a good time, felt like we got lucky with the fish!
