The Voyager returned this morning with 13 Bluefin Tuna and 5 Yellowfin Tuna. They landed a couple of monster Bluefin, with the largest weighing in at 298 pounds! Congratulations to Captain Todd and the passengers and crew of the Voyager.

As the temps drop, we are finding the bottom biters are biting at our local spots. Lingcod and Reds with a mix of other great tasting fish. We have been seeing Yellowtail on a daily basis as well. 

Today our 24 anglers landed 7 bluefin tuna from 70-85 pounds. First time anglers, seasoned anglers, captains, crewmen and all the way up to our office personnel. Nobody is off limits when it comes to the frustration and lack of sleep that a bluefin can create. However, if you stick with it, come prepared and keep an open mind. You will eventually be rewarded with a fish of a lifetime.

Aug. 23

Let me wine for a few sentences please. With the exception of a 3 day window in the second week, we haven't had two days of good weather in a row in the whole month of August. It's tough to even make it a full day with good weather. Windy August 2013. Screw you August. Needless to say it's not very comfortable traveling right now. Good weather early turned to blown out pre lunch, then backed off for an hour , now blown out again.

OK, I'm done now. Slow fishing today. We had three deals today that didn't bite all that well. 8 out of 1, 14 out of another and then we had 1 for 1 and then we called it a trip. Oh well, we still had an awesome trip. We'll be in tomorrow after 7:00 in the morning and the big guy will be taking it out for a 5 day trip.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-24-2016 As reported yesterday it was a very tough day fishing. We spent the whole day stopping on spot after spot after spot. It got to a point where I thought maybe the passengers didn't think we were really seen fish. One of the things we noticed was where the yellowfin tuna was hanging out, even though it didn't bite It Turns out it was good Intel for today. It did pay off this morning, we ended up shutting down right at daylight on a really nice school that stuck with this until after lunchtime. The grade of fish was 35 to 80 pounds. We hung with it for about another two hours and it just wouldn't bite. After about three hours of searching we finally found where the fish had moved to while we were drifting all morning. We were rewarded with another afternoon bite equal to what we caught in the morning we ended up with a fantastic day of quality, I say quality yellowfin tuna. We also had in the mix by half a dozen nice grade bluefin tuna. We are heading in and going to drop off our Joe Beck charter and pick up Beverly and her group. Found our Shot at Gold! Today we spent our day looking for kelps. There was a lot of kelps but we had to be selective and persist through many empty's until we were able to find one that was holding. The fruitful kelp for us had beautiful Dorado that wanted to bite.It was a chaotic 30 minutes of biting fish, but we made the most out of it. Everyone was able to land a Dorado and we even picked off a Wahoo! Here we have Mark and Jon with their beautiful Dorado!

Mike Pritchard called in with this report for the Tribute. "We're off to a great start here this morning. We made a move down to the Yellowfin grounds that really paid off. We have over 150 Yellowfin tuna on the boat this morning. To that you can add 150 Yellowtail. We'll keep you updated as the day progresses.

"We're leaving on a 1 Day trip tomorrow night. I know some Bluefin have been caught locally. It's a good time to go fishing. There is still very good fishing to be had. Hope to see you on the water."
