We didn't have to go too far to get some good action on the albacore. Everyone hooked and landed some. Weather is good. We will head into blue fin territory tomorrow. Thanks for checking in.

This past weekend we went out with 33 anglers on both of our trips. Saturdays fishing was a little bit better as far as quality is concerned. On both trips we ended up with limits of rockfish but Saturday we caught 80+ red rockcod to go along with 3 lingcod and plenty of chilies and Boccaccio. Sunday we had a bit of a wind swell come up making the drift rather fast. Sundays count was 63 reds 2 lings and limits of rockfish. The weather forecast looks good for this week.

Hello Everyone Today fishing was slow. We spent the day offshore looking around for any warm water fish that wanted to play. Unfortunately we only were able to land a few small Yellowfin Tuna. On the bright side we have superstar pizza chef Joe Gigliotti aboard and today. He decided to grace us with his pizza talent. He whipped up more pizzas than you could shake a stick at with so many topping combinations that it would make the Poppa Johns R and D department have to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to even have a chance of keeping up. It truly seemed like the endless lunch, always finding room for one more slice, and another and another. Fishing was slow but the pizzas were coming in HOT and often! Mike Pritchard called in with this report for the Tribute. "We're off to a great start here this morning. We made a move down to the Yellowfin grounds that really paid off. We have over 150 Yellowfin tuna on the boat this morning. To that you can add 150 Yellowtail. We'll keep you updated as the day progresses.

"We're leaving on a 1 Day trip tomorrow night. I know some Bluefin have been caught locally. It's a good time to go fishing. There is still very good fishing to be had. Hope to see you on the water."

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 10-02-2018 Today was absolutely gorgeous weather! We had good current, the water temperature, the water color was fantastic. Yeah I know you see it coming! We only caught 15 yellowtail for the day. Great sign and great conditions the fish just were not there. It looks like we're going to get a great day of traveling tomorrow. We're finished up and heading for home! Tomorrow will be a breakdown cleanup get ready for the dock day on Thursday. The guys have a beautiful catch to unload. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Drew Henderson docked Polaris Supreme at Fisherman's Landing August 12 after four days of fishing. His anglers had near-limits of yellowtail, mostly from Cedros Island, where he found mackerel to be superior bait, and fish biting at both ends. Drew said his anglers released some 200 fish. Henderson's posting for August 10 read: "We started our trip making the long haul down to Benitos Island due to the bad weather and bad offshore report. We got to the Island at about two thirty. We got held up with a giant school of 3 to 4 foot giant squid. I can't say it was bad there, I mean we caught a lot of fish we just had to go through lots of little ones to get the bigger ones. We gave the night bite a couple hours only getting ten fish and took off towards Cedros. "The morning was great. Everyone woke up to bent rods. After a couple hours the current slowed and the slime (barracuda) took over. We did a little scouting and found some large model yellows and had a couple of long plunking drifts. Then we took off to the northern head to gain some time for tomorrow and give it a check and found the honey hole. Mucho Fisho. All the beautiful grade, and they chewed until we all got our fill. We're traveling up tonight to do some offshore tomorrow until it's time to go home." Dave Betz of Huntington Beach won first place for a 27.6-pound yellowtail he bagged with a sardine on a 1/0 ringed Gorilla hook and 20-pound P-Line. He said he fished with his favorite Accurate 270 reel, and a Calstar six-foot rod. The fight ran to 35 minutes, he said. Forrest Broyles of Kelseyville got a 25.4-pounder. He was tied by Ken Wan of Oakland for second place.
