18 pass. 20 bluefin tuna from 60-80 lbs. Excellent opportunity to hook and land a trophy fish on 40 lb flyline bait with a 1/0 circle hook. 160 gram Flatfalls fished on 60lb was also working well.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-19-2016
Hello Everyone,
Today we woke up having hopes of a repeat day of yesterday. We started off the day by hooking a nice yellowfin of the same size quality as yesterday, but the school did not stick.
We had our work cut out for us chasing school after school, spot after spot with the same results. The tuna had lock jaw today and had very suspect behavior of line shy bluefin tuna. Needless to say it was tough, we scraped up another school sized tuna and had a nice flash of yellowtail right at sunset. A nice way to finish off a great trip with a small shooter of yellowtail right before we rode off into the sunset and pointed to boat to San Diego.
We Would like to thank Dave Dolan for putting together a great "lets talk hook up" four day trip. We sure had a great time catching some yellows and some of the best quality tuna we will likely see on a four day trip.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-24-2016 As reported yesterday it was a very tough day fishing. We spent the whole day stopping on spot after spot after spot. It got to a point where I thought maybe the passengers didn't think we were really seen fish. One of the things we noticed was where the yellowfin tuna was hanging out, even though it didn't bite It Turns out it was good Intel for today. It did pay off this morning, we ended up shutting down right at daylight on a really nice school that stuck with this until after lunchtime. The grade of fish was 35 to 80 pounds. We hung with it for about another two hours and it just wouldn't bite. After about three hours of searching we finally found where the fish had moved to while we were drifting all morning. We were rewarded with another afternoon bite equal to what we caught in the morning we ended up with a fantastic day of quality, I say quality yellowfin tuna. We also had in the mix by half a dozen nice grade bluefin tuna. We are heading in and going to drop off our Joe Beck charter and pick up Beverly and her group. Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had very good fishing for Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. We group ended up with 61 Yellowtail and 10 Barracuda. We did have 4 small Yellowtail that we released. So we had a total of 65 Yellowtail today.
The Yellowtail were biting on surface iron, fly-lined baits, and yo-yo jigs. Today we had 6 or 7 good shots at the fish.

Hi friends. Short report for this evening as our weather is snotty and we don't have enough tie-down straps to strap my feet to the floor and my fingers to the keyboard. A helmet wouldn't be a bad idea either but we don't have one. Anyhow, offshore prospecting today was OK. We had a few jig strikes on Yellowfin and Dorado and managed a couple stops that produced some bait-fish late in the day but that was about it. Windy conditions made for a bumpy ride all day and made for difficult glassing conditions to try and locate kelps, breezers, and breaking fish. The weather is forecasted to continue to be windy but is supposed to come down for the start of our fishing day tomorrow. We'll be finishing up our trip by fishing all day Thursday and a partial day Friday at the Bluefin/Yellowfin grounds. Scores remain decent to very good and we're hoping to top off our hodge-podge of fish already in the RSW wells with some more Bluefin and Yellowfin. We'll be in the area at first light tomorrow.

Good evening everyone, we're back!!!! After 2 months of grueling boat work we are back on the water and couldn't be happier. What's new with the crew? Not much with most of the guys. Jed got his captains license. That's big news. And I had a beautiful baby daughter in April. That's big news too. Mark's the same enjoyable goofball, Gunny's the same fish hunting fellow. Schoolers still dishing out tasty meals and Gringo is back helping him out. We also have some new crew members joining the supreme team this year.
We departed this evening on a 1 1/2 day trip. We are pleased with the bait we got because we lucked out and got a tank of sardine to go with a couple tanks of usable anchovy if need be. Hopefully it will be because we run out of sardine with all the fish we catch. The reports are fishy. There's yellowfin and bluefin and yellowtail to catch if you find the right schools that want to bite and those are the schools we'll be looking for all day long tomorrow. Weather reports are calling for some wind tomorrow but they downsized there forecast from this morning so hopefully it won't be too bad. Time will tell.
Right now we're wrapping up our prime rib dinner and will be going to bed soon so we're all rested up for our big day tomorrow. Sweet dreams and goodnight.
