Skipper Drew Henderson took a look at the San Benitos Islands on a four-day Polaris Supreme trip with 24 anglers. He arrived in the afternoon to find fair to good fishing and some seals that were hungry but not ravenous. He said his anglers got yellowtail there up to 30 pounds. Next day he fished at Cedros Island.
"We got 80 big ones there," he said, "at the South End." Eric Thomas of Palmdale won first place for a 46.8-pound yellowtail. He bagged it with a sardine on a 5/0 Eagle Claw hook and 50-pound Big Game Line. Thomas fished with a Trinidad 40 reel and a Calstar 6460 H rod. He said he got the big ‚Дтtail in 15 minutes.
Shannon Nutt of Palmdale was second for a 37.8-pounder, and Edward Agadjanian of Glendale, home of Newell reels, said he used a Newell reel to take his third place 34.8-pound yellowtail.

We returned from an 8-day trip on the day before Thanksgiving. The trip was slow overall with a few great highlights. We had one good day of tuna fishing where we landed about 75 tuna ranging in size from 15# to 75# topped with 6 fish at the end of the day which weighed from 156# to 224#. A few wahoo and good yellowtail fishing on medium grade yellows ballanced out the trip.

We departed today on Eric Rogger's annual 5day trip. We have an excellent group of anglers onboard and picked up some great looking bait. The fishing prospects are looking good and we are anxious to go. We started rolling down to Cedros dinning on some terrific beef and shrimp kabobs, in some great weather. Last trip Drew got some huge yellowtail there. But reports from the albacore grounds got a lot more interesting so we did a 150 degree right turn and headed for the albacore. We will be there tomorrow at daylight. Fishing sounds really good.

One stop made our day on the Imperial Sprinkler Private charter. 45 yellowfin 14 yellowtail.

Good evening. We spent our morning getting the Supreme and her passengers out of the weather for a bit, attempting to locate some coastal species for a morning while we gave the offshore scene a rest. We didn't quite connect like we were hoping but we did manage to catch a few yellowtail for our efforts, so all was not for lost. We made the decision to get back offshore and see what was going on and what was going on was scattered jig strikes on yellowfin tuna with some bait stops to go along with it. There is still some good hits to be had out here on both bluefin and yellowfin but we just didn't locate the right batch of fish. For tomorrow, we'll be fishing a little bit closer to home as we'll give it a try for a few hours and then have to book it for home. Wish us luck and sorry for the short report, the weather traveling up isn't the best conditions for typing but it's still okay to traveling. It could be a lot worse but we don't want that. 103 yellowfin 12 yellowtail 1 skipjack. After hours of driving without hardly seeing a scale we found the right school at the right time. Never give up!

Hello everyone, Today there was a ton of fish both Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna. However was tough to get them to stick. We did manage to land some of both species. The grade is great we just need that consistent bite. We will be trying a new area tomorrow. Will report again then, Team Supreme

Mike Pritchard called in with this report for the Tribute. "We found a kelp paddy right at grey light this morning. So far we have about 35 Yellowtail and 2 Dorado so far. We'll keep you posted as the day progresses."
