A decent whack on the 50-70 pound Bluefin gave us a total of 17 Bluefin and 45 Yellowtail for our light load of 11 Angler’s today. We go again tomorrow night with another super light load.

Hi friends. Today, a couple boats came out of their days looking like Kate Beckinsale and some boats came out looking like the love-child of Whoopi Goldberg and Gary Busey. I'd like to think we were somewhere in between. Anyhow, we caught a few handfuls of nice bluefin, a couple of nice yellowtail and one really nice dorado. It's just a matter of finding one that wants to stick with us and bite. Our weather is okay and we'll be giving it our all tomorrow. See ya.

Tommy Rothery finished up a three-day trip on his Polaris Supreme and tied up at Fisherman's Landing July 12. "We had good fishing on albacore," he said, "and bluefin fishing was okay, too. I think I saw the longest spread of albacore I've seen in five years. We had some kids who fished for tuna with iron from the bow, The Ironmen. They did great!" Hubert Bell of Bonita won the jackpot for a 47-pound albacore, the best one to come in to the docks this season. He said it bit on a sardine pinned to a 2/0 Super Mutu hook on 30-pound P-Line. He used an Accurate B-2 500 reel on an 800 M Calstar wrapped by Don's Bait & Tackle. Tom Carr of San Diego won second place for a 42.4-pound bluefin and Lohn Storms of Vista won third place for a 38.6-pound bluefin tuna. The Ironmen kindly posed for Bill Roecker's camera. They were Hugh Seifert, 14, Hunter Lane, 14, and Jorge daSilva, 13, all of Poway. Hugh and Hunter will go to Poway High and Jorge to St. Michael's. The boys said they got most of their fish with chrome and blue Tady 9 jigs and Megabait darts or knife jigs.

The tuna have been popping up quickly in violent “formers”.

The angler who are able to get a quick cast into the chaos have been the most productive ones! 

The trip out now has tuna ranging in size from 30-115 lbs! 

Hopefully they start biting as good as they show.

    And we're off on another 5 day trip.  Things didn't go so hot at the bait receivers.  The bait we got was healthy, we just weren't allowed to take a full load.  We were shorted 75 scoops or so.  Anyways, we looked for fishies this afternoon.  We saw some small spots of yellowfin right out of the gates that wouldn't bite, and then didn't see anything until almost dark.  A sonar ball of yellowfin produced three fish so we got jackpot handled already. 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  We're going to slide down a little tonight and look in an area that produced some pretty darn good yellowfin fishing today.  The weather is magnificent.
                            

 

Good Morning Everyone, Today we had great Dorado fishing! Lots of small grade Yellowtail and Tuna as well. Not Seeing much in the way of Wahoo, even though the conditions look great. Hoping we find those Wahoo tomorrow, Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 10-22-2019 Today was one of those mind numbing days where you just can't believe fishing is that good. We had fantastic fishing on just monster size Wahoo and unbelievable fishing on beautiful big Dorado. We got Wahoo throughout the whole day and Dorado was a steady 2 1/2 hour bite of catch and release with the guys keeping only a few of what they wanted. Both the Dorado and Wahoo are just an absolute premium grade. Beautiful weather again today and will be out offshore again tomorrow looking for those big beautiful kelp patties that produced such a phenomenal day. We had plenty of Wahoo photos but neglected to get one single Dorado photo. You'll just have to believe me it was good and they were big. We departed on a 6 day trip today. After getting bait we're heading down planning on being at Cedros tomorrow afternoon. Weather for us is good right now but we're planning on it getting bad as we get further down. It's forecasting to get better but for the time being it will be behind us so we won't feel it either way. We'll be at Cedros for a couple days so check back soon for a report.
