Covered a lot of water today. Found a good school in the bottom of the ninth. Ended with 66 good grade yellowfin.

San Diego Anglers private charter wanted taco meat, so we put the yellowtail fishing on the back burner. We enjoyed the day and caught limits of calico bass 112 vermillion rockfish 13 barracuda. Back on the yellowtail hunt tomorrow.

Trip wrap up: It was a hell of a trip with a great group of guys, with great tackle from Accurate and great food from Shawn. Yes we had some nausea from hurricane Paul but that's something you have to deal with sometimes in long range sportfishing. Thank you so much Mr. Joe Gigliotti and The staff at Accurate for letting us use and lend out your Accurate tackle.

Jackpot goes as follows: Dale Goss took 1st with a 52.6 pound wahoo, pizza man Joey G. took 2nd with a 50.4 pound yellowfin tuna (I told you Joe), and Gary Rogers took 3rd with a 40.2 pound yellowfin tuna. An Honorable mention goes out to Steve Lowe for his 56.4 pound wahoo he caught on the troll.

 

Today we left with our good friend George Davis and his group of dudes on a 14 day trip. Yup, a glory run going down down down. Our bait was fair and seems to be swimming in circles in the tanks and not dying off so that's good. We rigged up our rods and reels today taking our time because we have some time with some travel days ahead of us. We haven't had a true departure travel day for a long time now and I have to say it's nice not being in a rush to get everything done at once. There were some movies played today and a lot of sleep going down in the staterooms. Chef Shawn put out a nice little Sushimi snack that went down quick. Tomorrow we'll do our tackle fishing seminar for Wahoo after breakfast and then I'm sure there will be more movies and naps in everyones future. Travel days are nice. Can you say 1492 and Titos ! Hello everyone, Today we spent the day working up towards home. Hitting spot after spot until we finally had a shooter of yellowtail at the last minute. A great flurry of fish to end out our fishing time. The yellows we landed were defiantly large, all between 20 and 30 lbs. We have the boat pointed home at the moment. Hopefully we make good speed! Ahhh yes. It's fitting that Sirius XM 90's on 9 is bumping Ice Cube's hit "Today Was A Good Day". Oh yes, and just like Mr. Cube, we messed around and got ourselves a triple-double. Daily limits of yellowfin in the 30-50 lb. class, 33 bluefin tuna of a mixed grade but most were 30-40 pounders, and we rounded our day out with 17 flatheads. We had a jig strike at about 0600 hours and didn't move the boat until well after lunch. Just plunkin' away with some really heavy flurries now and then to really jack things up. Excellent fishing on quality gamefish is what we do. Like Mallory, our resident 16 year old girl from last trip said to me "get on my level, bro!" Kids. Where do they come up with this stuff? Anyhow, our level right now is Sonny Jim status. Straight ballin' and if everybody was on our level right now, the world would be a much, much better place. We're pumped and Tania and the dudes are done wore out.

Good weather, good fishing. No reason not to do this again tomorrow. We'll be trying for squid tonight and see if we can't get ourselves a few and put them to good use tomorrow like we did today. Have a great night and a splendid tomorrow -- and remember: somebody on the Polaris Supreme loves you.

Hi friends. The boat arrived this morning from the Let's Talk Hook-Up 4-day trip this morning at 0830 hours and by 1200 hours, we shoved off the docks with Joe Beck and friends for the annual Bob Vance/Joe Beck 5-day trip. Big fish honors from last trip went to Rudy V. with a 50.2 lb. yellowfin tuna. Way to go, Rudy. Way to give a hundred and ten percent. Anyhow, we cleared the point this afternoon with a load of bait that looks like a sardine civil war broke out a few days prior and we're transporting the wounded to a secure location to be euthanized. Ugh. We'll be closely monitoring their health and we'll see how they swim throughout the trip. For now, it's still alive. Yaaay! To quote deckhand Jed Scott, "It is what it is."

So that is all. We'll be on the hunt for tuna and other various kelp related species of size for day one of the trip. We'll be in the zone at first light and we'll report back to you tomorrow. Later.

The fishing out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego is already great and is ready to explode as water conditions improve and temperatures increase. The new Seaforth Landing buildings and parking lot are almost ready to roll and things are looking really good!!! Congratulations to everyone at Seaforth !! Great Job !!! I was lucky enough to fish with Captains Bob Williams and Bryan Winn for a 3/4 day trip aboard the Seawatch to the beautiful Coronado Islands. We limited out on 3-6 pound bonito by 10am in wide open fishing not far off the coast. Captains Bob and Bryan than steered us to the Coronado Island for a shot at some big island yellowtail. Not long after dropping anchor yours truly hooked and landed a nice yellow on a dropped looped chovy. Way to go Kidd !! We hooked a bunch of yellows on sardines, anchovies and iron, landing some and loosing others to reel screaming runs to the rocks. The highlight came when young Chris "Don't call me Littleman anymore" Robinson hooked, battled and landed a nice 20 lb Coronado Island Yellowtail. Awesome job Chris !!! We ended the day with 10 nice yellows from 13- 28 lbs led by Mark Nahabedians' 28 pounder that he nailed on Salas blue and white iron. Captains Bob, Bryan and crew did an awesome kob putting us on the fish. We were the high count boat out of all the 3/4 day boats fishing the Islands. Great Job Guys !!!
