Good evening everyone. We departed this afternoon on a private family charter with an excited load of kids and adults ready to put their fishing luck to the test. We made a stop at the bait receivers and loaded up on some healthy sardines to bring with us on our journey to the southern fishing grounds. The bait looks good and everybody is ready to put said bait to the test. For now, everyone is in the galley, getting ready to munch on some prime rib, a Polaris Supreme departing night tradition. Our fishing outlook looks good as there are some scores to be had on Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail, and some Dorado too. As for the weather outlook, it's looking like it will be a little bit windy for tomorrow, but Sunday is looking like it might calm down. We'll see for ourselves tomorrow.

For now, we'll just keep on chugging down to the grounds and with that, we'll chat with you tomorrow evening. Take care.

Sunday June 22 - Excellent, excellent yellowtail fishing again today. No signs of any black sea bass. We are enjoying absolutely fantastic weather. And everyone is having a great time. Thanks, Tommy and crew

Good evening everyone, This morning started early with most anglers fishing a dropper loop before grey light. Fishing was slow with a handful of quality 20 pound class yellowtail being caught with a few nice sized grouper coming over the rail. As the morning progressed, fishing started to pick up with anglers hooking fish on flylined baits, the dropper loop, as well as the sliding sinker rig. A couple of these fish were unwilling to leave their rock homes, and were able to wrap the lines in some of the jagged bottom structure before breaking off. As the sun rose in the sky, we were able to pick off a couple more of these fish before we found the right school. A little before noon, we settled into a school of fish that wanted too bite a little bit better. We were able to keep these fish around the boat for the rest of the day, and would hook a handful at a time as they bit in flurries from 2-7 fish at once. Majority of these yellowtail were in the 20-25 pound class and came off the flylined sardine or mackerel. One 50lb class grouper made its way over the rail which fell victim to a sardine flylined on 30 pound test. With the day winding down, we decided to point the boat toward the kelp zone in order to give ourselves an early shot at some more fish in the morning. The 3M private charter experienced both ends of the spectrum of tuna behavior. Many non biting schools made our mid-day aggressive school very special.

Very rough seas made landing our 27 yellowtail quite the challenge. The JRI 66 was the hot lure.

Report 7-23-2016 Good Evening everyone. We cleared the point today around 1 o clock with a beautiful load of mid sized sardines. Immediately we were in the midst of a weird local weather system consisting of a unusual south wind and a choppy south swell. The conditions made it a little rough for the first hour or so, but then started to calm down and we eventually we settled into a nice downhill ride for dinner. Coincidentally around dinner time we came across a couple schools of yellowfin tuna. We made a quick drift before first call and was able to hook and land one. We may have only landed one but the grade of the fish was excellent. A solid 18 lb Tuna, a very refreshing grade of fish compared to the 10 ponders we have been seeming earlier this summer. Hopefully there is something to this and it builds into a legitimate biting school of fish. Very excited to see what the next few days hold. Unfortunately our second to none fish care had the fish spiked, bled, and into the frigid RSW fish hold before the camera was able to make its way down from the wheelhouse. So no picture was taken.We are traveling down tomorrow and will start fishing bright and early.Wish us luck!Team supreme
