Good evening everyone, Today we started off our Beck 5 day charter. We woke up pointed at a new area of water that has not been prospected yet. The day consisted of warm beautiful water, one kelp, and one boomer school of smaller yelllowfin tuna. The kelp had some great Dorado fishing to get everyone on the board. A truly great area of warm blue water. If there were more kelp or objects in the water it would have been interesting to see what they may have held. Our one boomer school of tuna was awesome to see, these tuna bit like crazy. Literally anything that hit the water from trolling jigs to bare gaffs they tried to eat! We only kept a couple each because we wanted to save room for larger fish, but it was a nice change of scenery seeing biting fish. Trying for yellowtail tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 19 anglers catch 13 Bluefin Tuna. The best way to get a bite was finesse live bait rigs (20 lb floor #2 hook) or an 80-100 gram flat fall. I would bring both your heavy outfits and large flat falls for the bigger Bluefin Tuna.

Rollin down, rigging gear, and living large! Today we are rolling down south on our Chaparro 7 day trip. We are loaded up with bait and making our way south into warm water. We will be at the grounds soon, but for now we can relax and snack like Kings!

4 yellowtail and plenty of reds and rockfish. The islands continue to move in the right direction.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 07-05-12

      

       We departed yesterday afternoon on a 1 1/2 day charter we picked up at the last minute so we are a little behind on our reports. When we left the dock with our 4 anglers the outlook was semi promising. There was one boat with 15 of the large bluefin late in the day at 150 miles and signs of 20 to 30 pound fish at 120 miles but it wasn’t biting. We woke this morning to find the ocean flat and calm as could be with spots of breaking 20 to 30 pound bluefin signaling us to stop. And stop we did and where rewarded with a hook up all the way around for every one on deck (all 3). The bottom line on our day was limits of small yellowtail and every one caught a couple of bluefin each except 1 angler only landed one. That’s 20 yellowtail and 7 bluefin, most of which was caught in the afternoon at 120 miles. The gang all had an excellent time and we would like to thank them all. This area has defiantly fallen apart and Drew and the boys will be taking you guys going out tomorrow farther south on your 2 day trip tomorrow so don't be late he will leave as soon as you all get down to the boat and ck in 11:00 am or sooner. The killer bluefin fishing right now is at 250 miles with the upper end being at 180 miles. You guys should be below 180 miles if you can clear the dock buy 12:00. So don't be late. This fishing in the 250 mile zone is insane. The best bluefin fishing in years if want to jump on a 2 to 5 day and target this fish call Susan at the Polaris Supreme office. A decent whack on the 50-70 pound Bluefin gave us a total of 17 Bluefin and 45 Yellowtail for our light load of 11 Angler’s today. We go again tomorrow night with another super light load.
