Capt Mike Prichard from the Tribute called in the final talley from their overnight with 148 Yellowfin Tuna from 8 - 45 lbs, some really goos fishing. We also had good Yellowtail of which we kept about 40 of the from 6 - 12 lbs with a couple in the lower 20 lb range, we also released a lot. We a also seeing al lot of Dorado around the kelps, we were not able to get any to bite today. Fishing across the board has been very good, although the Bluefin have not been around. Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-19-2019 Well fishing was pretty darn good today! Just not for us. Our passengers are pretty well fixed up on yellowfin tuna, some people just kept Five or six and Released the rest and some people kept 14 over the last four days. So we decided to go look for Dorado and Wahoo on kelp patties. And let me tell you it didn't work out! As close as we got was one dead turtle with one single Dorado swimming around it. The boat we left behind, where we were fishing tuna in the morning ended up having a phenomenal day before we got back there late in the afternoon. That's how I know it was good fishing! We had good weather today looking but it didn't help a whole lot. Tomorrow we going to go spend about four hours looking for yellowtail to wind up the trip. Our efforts on the Dorado was just in the wrong direction. One boat found an excellent school 40 miles to the northwest of us on a dead seal. Another boat had beautiful bull Dorado fishing 60 miles to the southeast of us today. It just wasn't meant to be for us! So off we go! we will report from the yellowtail grounds tomorrow. We are dragging our feet behind the storm here we don't want to drive up into it. Our weather has been good to excellent the whole trip. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Covered a lot of water today. Found a good school in the bottom of the ninth. Ended with 66 good grade yellowfin.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-04-2016 Thanks for checking in, Our morning started off somewhat slow, however as the sun started to rise it got better with more and more fish coming under the boat. After hooking four fish and loosing them all! We knew we were in for a battle with some big mean Bluefin tuna! And when I say big and mean that's just what they were! The average fight time was about 45 minutes to an hour. Our hook to land ratio was 1 in 5 , But after a few adjustments it stated to improve very well. And just in time because right about lunch time the fish really started to turn on big time! At one point I counted at least five going at one time and they were all big fish. After the smoke cleared and most tended to their battle wounds we ended up having a nice day. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Capt Ryan Bostian checked in from the San Diego with a trip wrap up for their 41 anglers to report that they caught 135 Yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. They were biting on the flylined sardines and the surface jigs, we also a few on the yoyo jigs, pretty good fishing today. We will be back at it again tomorrow, get down here and get in on this hot action.

Nov. 13

We finished up the trip today mostly concentrating on yellowtail. We kept the wire on in case we got into some wahoo and weren't going to steer away from tuna either. Well we did get a wahoo today. A nice fat one. 60 pounder? We'll see at the dock. We saw a few schools of tuna that wanted nothing to do with us and we saw a few foamers of good grade yellowtails. We got on top of one of those foamers and they flashed us for a second and then left us. We only caught a handfull before they were gone. We chased down a few other schools but they all sank out before we could get to them.

To recap the trip we caught all you want on big fat dorado, lots and lots of school grade yellowfin tuna and had a pretty good catch of wahoo throughout the trip. We spent two full days hunting the cow yellowfin and saw plenty each and all day but only have a couple trophies to show for our efforts. A lot of non biting fish but that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes. We only had a couple days of choppy weather and other then that it's been beautiful. We're heading home right now with just a fantastic ride up the line.

After a juicy prime rib dinner and a movie last night, the guys were fast asleep. Today after breakfast we did our tuna and wahoo fishing seminars. After lunch we spent the afternoon reading, leaders, rods, reels, and putting together a few spare gaffs. Our bait looks beautiful and the weather going down great. There is a couple of guys who couldn't make it this year that we already miss being around. Charlie we miss you doing laps. Hope your wife is doing well. And Jimmy, Javier said today would have been a great day for bean soup! Our evening consisted of chicken Cordon Blue, another movie and back to bed. Tomorrow we may do a little fishing for meals and hors d'oeuvres. We will let you know how it goes.
