fellows lake Fishing Report 2025

Captain Mike Pritchard checked in with an update from the Tribute. We had decent fishing on Friday! Our 21 anglers ended up with 61 California Yellowtail and 1 Bluefin Tuna (up to 110 pounds).

The Tribute has overnight trips departing daily at 10 PM.

Captain Ryan Bositan called in today at 12:50 PM with an audio update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA.  We are currently drifting right now.  We have two 70 pounder Bluefin Tuna on the deck.  We have dumped 5 or 6 of them.  They are not coming in too easy today.  We also caught a half dozen Yellowtail on the way to the tuna grounds.

A 25 pound outfit for fishing the kelps for Yellowtail
A flat fall outfit with Spectra and a 2 speed real for the Bluefin

Fish report for the first week of October. Anybody who has spent any amount of time in San Diego knows that October is a great month to fish and this October has been no exception. Limit style yellowtail fishing has been the norm rather than the exception this week. On Saturday we stopped on a kelp first thing in the morning and caught 250 yellows and left them biting. On days like Saturday when we catch a lot of fish in the morning our 35 degree refrigerated fish hold is really nice. Along with the great yellowtail fishing we have also had a sprinkling of 20 lb. dorado 25 lb. bluefin tuna and 20 lb. yellowfin tuna in the mix. All in all I would say we are having great fishing with no end in sight. Reservations are very important this time of year so if you plan to come fishing call 619-224-3383.

 Remember yesterday I was talking about plans? Well if you read my first report of the trip I talked about dragging our feet a day and waiting for the weather to get pristine out at the Rocks. That was the master plan and well, it worked out. Today we had great weather to go along with our great wahoo fishing. We arrived to the grounds at 7:30 and we were getting steady jig strikes on wahoo to go along with jigging and baiting until about 5:30 when things around here went to bed. I really wanted 4 more wahoo for the magic number but we tried and tried and we gave up. The fish went to bed so we will too. We're now sitting on anchor getting ready to enjoy a nice sunset before eating a nice dinner. Like I said , the weather couldn't be better. We'll have a great nights sleep. We're going to try this again in the morning and take it from there. It's the last day we ever get in August of 2014 and I'm glad we spent it here.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-13-2016 Good evening readers! We departed on Archie Steele's annual five day fishing trip. We left the harbor with a beautiful load of mid size sardines. There are a couple anglers who are new to the Polaris Supreme and we are eager to show them the Supreme experience! We will be fishing for yellowtail early tomorrow morning. Wow! What a great 8 day trip we just had here on the Polaris Supreme! It was great finally getting to fish that southern zone of Alijos Rocks and The Ridge! Over 200 great quality wahoo, red hot Yellowfin Tuna fishing, and awesome night time Yellowtail fishing. The action was nonstop! We cannot wait to get back down there! We currently have a 10 day coming up with some spots available. Be sure to lock in your chance at some great fall wahoo, tuna, yellowtail, and maybe even a day of cow tuna fishing!
