Yellowtail fishing fell on its face today we had about 1 around. But we managed to keep busy have fun and catch some killer table fair. Thats right Rock Cod. You should see the rock cod fishing we had, it was pretty darn good. We where lucky the yellowtail and the Rock cod grounds are one in the same and we could do both while waiting for the yellows to bite. The lings and reds made up most of our catch today. All of us are looking forward to dinner tonight, it is going to be fresh tuna we caught a few days ago. We will be back in the tuna grounds tomorrow to finish off our trip. Tommy and Crew.

The last couple of days we have experienced some fun Coronado Island fishing for yellowtail, bluefin tuna, calico bass and barracuda on private charters. As a result we have switched our open party trips to Island trips. These trips will unfortunately require a passport and will begin on Monday. The best setups have been a 20 or 25 lb flyline setup and a 30-40 lb setup to fish a yo-yo lure or dropper loop. Plenty of targets for all you jig chuckers as well. The cost of this trip is $225 which includes your Mexican Fishing License, your FMM visitors visa, your biosphere reserve bracelet, plenty of live bait and 5 seasoned crewmen. Rental rods, fish cleaning and food will be extra. We have a full galley onboard with plenty of ice cold beer, soda and water. We also offer delicious burgers and all your basic breakfast items. Hi friends. We just wrapped up an epic day and a half trip this morning. Drew really set the stage for this two-day trip that we departed on this afternoon.

On Thursday, we landed 16 bluefin before we even rubbed the boogers out of our eyes and from there we picked and scratched on various jig strikes on yellowfin and kelp paddy fish. A little after lunch, Gunny spotted a kelp that wrapped up our day on yellowfin and dorado. Awesome fishing in flat calm weather. Beautiful. The "blackhawk" strikes again. It really was a fantastic trip and we're hoping for more of the same tomorrow. Oh yeah, we also caught 4 slug albacore. Call Susan and book your spots for 2013 ASAP! Do it.

Oct. 16

I would call today a very disappointing day. We had The Rocks to ourselves today after a 3 day rest and I thought we were going to get um but it was not to be. 0 wahoo. 0. Not even a short biter. We trolled for 4 hours for nothing. I think what I'm trying to say here is we didn't catch any wahoo. We caught a few handfuls of yellowtail in the morning before the sharks took things over and after realizing there were no wahoo to be had we went offshore and looked for a kelp the rest of the day to see if we could get 1 that way or a bunch of Dorado's but that was not to be either. The fishing today stunk. Everything else today was lovely though. The weather today was really nice. The sun was out and the seas were flat. The food is always great out here and the scenery was lovely as well. We're working our way back towards home now to extend our fishing time for the trip. We're going to top off on those beautiful yellowtails tomorrow and spend our last couple of day

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with an update from The San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we caught 40 yellowtail. We had a couple good shots at them today. Yes you need a passport and sorry I won't tell you where we caught them unless I'm related to you.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in with an update from the Tribute. We are on a 2.5 day trip and we are having fantastic Yellowfin Tuna fishing conditions. We have just over 200 on board so far. It is greasy calm and HOT! We are hunting for Bluefin Tuna now ...
