This is a 2 day trip that fishes September 27-28 (departing the night of the 26th).This outing is limited to 16 anglers.

The unusual part of this trip is half the anglers will be fly fishers. If you conventional fish, this means you get the stern to yourself as fly rodders like the sideways drift of the boat and stay on the windward side. Fly rodders are the first in on the slide but based on past averages, conventional will still out-fish us 5 to 1.

The trip is 670.00 and includes fishing permit, bunk and food. Drinks, crew tip and fish cleaning is extra.

Captain Ryan Bostian just called in with an update from The San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 33 Yellowtail (18 to 31 pounds) for 48 anglers. They fish were biting good in the morning on YoYo Iron. Then in the afternoon the surface action picked up. We are seeing lots of fish and things are looking good for the Coronado Islands. Capt Mike Pritchard on the Tribute calling in a fantastic fishing this morning, we have over 100 Yellowfin Tuna kelp hopping around the temporary pens. We have seen lots of Dorado in the area putting on show jumping, although we haven\'t been able to entice any to bite yet. We still have lots of time to fish today, the fishing has been the best we have seen in years. Now is the time to get out, call the landing to check for available spots on upcoming trip. Polaris Supreme docked at Fisherman's Landing August 26 under Drew Henderson's hand. The 24 anglers aboard had been fishing for five days, most of them at Guadalupe Island, where quality yellowfin tuna and yellowtail were caught. Matt Wheaton of Laguna Beach won first place, for a 57.8-pound tuna. He said he bagged it with a sardine on a 3/0 Mustad hook and 40-pound Izorline. He used a TLD 30 reel and a Calstar 700 H rod. Alan Romspert of Fullerton caught a 56.8-pound tuna, and tied for second place with Bruce Chisholm of Temecula. Floyd Spangler of Anaheim stood in with the winners in a lineup shot with his 35-pound yellowtail.

We have also seen Wahoo at the Islands. A passport is required for all reservations for fishing at the Coronado Islands. 27 yellowfin(20-60lbs) 16 yellowtail 2 dorado. The anglers who were willing to change their bait out every 60 seconds were rewarded with beautiful grade yellowfin tuna. Belly and shoulder hooked baits on 30-50lb line and a small circle hook worked best.

Good evening and thanks again for tuning Polaris Supreme fans.   What an excellent day today!  The early morning hours were spent doing some looking around at different spots deciding where we wanted to get established for tuna fishing.  The currents didn't really want to cooperate at first, but eventually we found what looked best and gave it a shot.  It was a little on the slower side till things started to wake up, then the guys started to scratch away.  We eventually switched gears into wahoo mode and that was a great choice.  The remainder of the day we had our running shoes on chasing skinnies all around the boat.  Stop after stop, they kept coming over the rail.  The tax man had to take his piece of the pie of course, losing more than just a few to sharks, but never the less, I still call it an amazing day of skin fishing.  We all look forward to many more days like today before we end the trip.  For those wondering about the weather, you should be jealous.  I don't think there is nicer weather anywhere in the U.S.  It nothing short of perfect out here.

Hello Everyone Today fishing was slow. We spent the day offshore looking around for any warm water fish that wanted to play. Unfortunately we only were able to land a few small Yellowfin Tuna. On the bright side we have superstar pizza chef Joe Gigliotti aboard and today. He decided to grace us with his pizza talent. He whipped up more pizzas than you could shake a stick at with so many topping combinations that it would make the Poppa Johns R and D department have to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to even have a chance of keeping up. It truly seemed like the endless lunch, always finding room for one more slice, and another and another. Fishing was slow but the pizzas were coming in HOT and often!
