18 yellowfin tuna 13 skipjack. Unfortunately all of the fish we found were in the vicinity of bait. Tuna that have not eaten for a few hours are much easier to catch than tuna that are gorging themselves on anchovies.

22 yellowfin 5 bluefin. Saw some good schools today but they weren’t very eager. Hoping for an attitude adjustment tomorrow.

Hello Everyone, Today we had an excellent day of fishing for both Yellowtail and Blue fin Tuna. The Yellowtail were all excellent grade 15-35 lbs, most of the Tuna were 12-20 lbs except for two standouts. One Close to 100 lbs and one well over 200 lbs. An excellent start to the trip with an incredible variety of fish. Hopefully it continues tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

7 yellowfin 47 yellowtail 5 dorado 5 skipjack. Never got a shot at a legitimate school today. Try again tomorrow.

Nice day for the boys. 

Polaris Supreme docked under owner-skipper Tom Rothery's hand June 26, after a five-day trip with 24 anglers for yellowtail and albacore. Tom weighed the fish at the certified scales at Fisherman's Landing, where a 48-pound yellowtail took top honors.
Terry Emmert of Douglas, WY had the first-place winner. "I got him in about 15 minutes," he said. "He just kept pulling and pulling, and he kept getting into a stringer of floating kelp. He's my best yellowtail ever." Emmert said he fished a sardine on the flyline, using a 3/0 Mustad 91450 hook on 40-pound P-Line. He had an Okuma 20 two-speed reel and a Seeker Black Steel 6470 rod, wrapped by Bill Boyce. Michael Giardino of San Pedro was second, for a 43-pound yellowtail, and Mal Wagstaff of Douglas, WY was third, for a 36.2-pound yellowtail. Three generations of Pattersons were aboard, and they posed with their fish. Liam Patterson of San Jose is eight, and he goes to Santa Teresa Elementary School, where he practices karate. Liam caught some big yellowtail, and he also got and posed with a 24.4-pound albacore, which will serve to start off this season's tally for the largest fish of that species.

Liam's dad Lane stood in with the boy, as did John Danis and John Patterson, also of San Jose and from the Patterson family.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in the evening. Today we had 61 Yellowtail. The fishing down there at the Coronado Islands is phenomenal. We have been catching between 50 and 178 Yellowtail per day. They are biting on all techniques: Yoyo fishing, Fly-lined Sardines, and Surface Iron too. We all slept in today as it was our first day off from fishing in a week. We had a later breakfast of pork chop, bacon, eggs and hash browns. After that we broke down and cleaned all of our big tuna gear and put away the harnesses and the terminal tackle and things. Then the crew scrubbed the boat to a nice shiny color while the passengers watched a movie or two. Then we ate cheeseburgers and they were great. And after that it was nap time. So we're all rested and we have a clean boat. We still have a little bit of live sardine left over and some time to use them so we'll be rolling by some fishable waters the next few days and if we see something we'll be able to stop and give it a try whether it be wahoo the next couple of days or bluefin the day before we get back to San Diego. The weather today was as good as you could ever ask for. Flat calm seas and the sun was shining. Lovely. Dinner was wahoo enchiladas and that's all we have to report.
