First things first !! I think a hearty Sportfishingreport.com congratulations are in order for J.J Gerritsen and the crew of the Apollo for their clean #1 sweep in annual SFR fishcount standings for 2006. Yellowfin Tuna # 1!!!!!!!!!!!, Albacore Tuna # 1!!!!!!!, Dorado #1 !!!! Very impressive numbers indeed !!!! Way to go guys, awesome year !!!!So when good friend and Santa Barbara local Doug Browand called and said a bunch of local firefighters and friends had chartered the #1 boat in the land for a little Island Freelance trip, I was packing my gear and clearing my schedule in a hurry. We loaded up on time and headed out of Sea Landing in Santa Barbara straight to Santa Rosa Island in case the squid and WSB wanted to show. J.J promised us some outrageous rockfish and lingcod action if the seabass were still MIA. We gave it a solid effort but with no signs of squid or WSB we motored up and headed out to some of Captain J.J's secret rocks and reefs. The first drift of the day produced monster reds and chuckles that rival some of the nicest and biggest rockfish I've seen and caught in many years. The Channel Islands Rockfishing is on Fire !!!!!! Throw a bunch of nice legal lings into the mix and you're talking a really fine day of fishing and a great time for all. The fishing at the Islands is only going to get better and J.J and the boys on the Apollo will be there fishing for them everyday. Captain Alyar called in this morning with a wrap-up report from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. We ended our trip with 22 Bluefin Tuna, 41 Yellowtail and 6 Dorado.

We do have a 1.5 day trip departing Sunday night. We have a very light load and are a definite go. Call Seaforth or BOOK ONLINE.

Be sure to bring 20, 25 and 30 pound floor and small hooks. The Bluefin we caught today were between 15 and 40 pounds.

Hello everyone, Today was the last day of our SImpatico 5 day charter. We decided to try our hand again at these Bluefin Tuna. The weather was choppy and it was uncomfortable for everyone. We only scratched up a couple of small tuna during the day. It wasn't until the evening that we found a school that wanted to play. We got our shot right before dark on a school right at the buzzard, at the end of the day. The fish were from 25 to 80 lbs, a nice mixed school to bring aboard and save the day! We had a great drift until dark, and we were excited to get the action in. What a great way to finish a great trip! An unbelievable variety on this trip including White Seabass, Halibut, Yellowtail, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, and even a 141lb Bluefin Tuna! Also I would like to thank Charter master Vernon Burke for putting together such a fun charter with a great group of guys! Always look forward to the trip and cant wait till next year! Out again for a 2 day tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

30 pass. 89 yellowtail 32 kelp bass. 1 flyline setup with 20-30 lb and 1 yoyo setup with 40 or 50 lb is all you need.

~~Good afternoon folks. Checking in hear from the bridge as we're departing on Dan Ranta's 1st Annual 5 day Charter. Dan took over for our long time passenger and charter master extraordinaire Mr. Eric Rogger. All of us here on the Supreme will certainly miss having him out on the water and being one of our favorite charter masters for over 30 years! Thanks so much Mr. Rogger! Dan joined us out here for his first time on the boat last year with a few of his fishing buddies and wasted no time taking over as charter head and filled the boat with an awesome group of anglers. We still have some veteran passengers still out with us like Tania Warner and her dad John as well as a lot new faces that we look forward to taking out fishing.
 We have Captain Tommy back at the helm so Drew can go spend a much needed 5 days with Kristin and his baby girl Sydney. And I can certainly not go without mentioning the we finally have back with us our Captain Tommie "Gunny" Miles. He's been missed, but now he's doing great, his health back in order and he says thanks to all of you that have wished him the best while he was recovering on his short hiatus.
 So here we go, great group, excellent weather heading south and ready for the games to begin! Tight lines and wind at our back! Check back in tomorrow.

Had an insane stop on Long range size Yellowfin. 3 hours later we ended up with 11 fish. Lost as many. Had 7 going at once, for our 6 anglers! Good stuff

 We're going to go ahead and chalk this one up as a travel day.  That's pretty much what we did today.  Starting last night.  And it was a rough one.  As soon as we got a couple hours northeast of the stones things got a bit windy and the boat started to rock.  Not good sleeping weather.  We got through it though.  Even Chef Mike got breakfast out without too much whining this morning.  Things started to smooth out a couple of hours prior to arriving to our fishing hole.  Our fishing hole didn't prove to be very productive though.  So we traveled up.  That's something you have to do on these longer trips when you fish the Rocks or the Ridge.  It's a long way down there.  So we caught a few wahoo on our travel day.

 Unfortunately the weather picked back up this afternoon and we've been scooping waves over the house steady since 3:00 or so.  Right now I turned it down swell for dinner because we have a couple hours to kill.  We're going to head back up to our tuna/wahoo honey hole from the beginning of the trip and hope for good weather.  Just two days left to fish on this trip.
