Hey y’all! went out to the pier in LA this morning, it was super misty and the air was pretty chilly. I took my new spinning rod with a light tackle setup, just got a nice 2000 size reel, which I totally love. I was using some shrimp for bait and after a few hours of casting and chatting with some locals, I finally hooked a decent halibut! felt like a struggle but got it in at around 5lbs. didn’t see much other action tho. water was pretty murky but hey, the ocean’s a mystery, right? packed it up around noon. all in all, good vibes, can’t wait to head back out! 🎣
