Captain Ray Montera took out 39 anglers today. Final fish count for the day was 6 lingcod 4 sheephead 80 red rockcod and full Mexican limits of rockfish. If you enjoy bottom fishing this is definitely the time for you. As soon as the yellowtail show up the rock fishing will take a back seat.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute gave us an on the water update for this morning, they are off to a great start. So far they have 12 Yellowtail from 12 to 18 pounds and 2 Bluefin Tuna around the 40 pound each and this before 7am. We ended yesterday in this area with some good fishing, hopefully today will be more of the same we have high hopes. We will check back in later.

Good afternoon. We're still steaming up the line; making terrible speed at the moment. We're still to far away and there is still a large land mass that we have to navigate around to give a solid ETA at the moment (14:01 hours). We're about 150 nautical miles from the Cedros/Benitos gap so we've got a ways to go. Our weather thus far has been windy and cold. If the breeze would back off 10 knots or so, it would be hot butter out here. We don't do too much more complaining about it though, we easily could be taking spray over the house and shuttering along. It's really not bad; just windy and cold.

Anyhow, we've been knocking out various projects around the boat like Mark wrapping new gaffs because he breaks them at an alarming rate, organizing the tool box, organizing the tackle bins/upper deck, and Jeff was last seen rigging up 130 lb. flourocarbon leaders for some reason. I guess he's bored or really excited for his next trip. Other activities have included watching "Zero Dark Thirty", which we gave one thumb up, napping, and working out. I'm pretty sure Drew is trying to kill me. Yesterday, he had us walk around the boat 35 times, do 100 squats and 100 sit-ups. Today, he had us walk around the boat 70 times, do 150 push-ups and 300 squats. I hate Drew. So, I'm taking the day off tomorrow because on Friday, we have almost 6 tons of tuna/wahoo to take out of the wells and put into carts. Bottom line, I hate Drew right now. Hate him. Schooler wanted me to make mention that he made delicious cheeseburgers for lunch and I'm going to mention that he is wearing orange socks, shorts, and a long sleeve shirt; I can't decide if he looks like a hippity-hop or a Home Depot bucket.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-06-2016 Good Afternoon everyone, Today we departed on our annual Ranta 5 day. We cleared the point at 11 AM, topped off with a load of sardines, headed south in hopes of some nice august exotics. We have a tackle seminar scheduled for later this afternoon followed by chef Mikes world famous Prime Rib dinner. Finger licking good, cant wait! Until tomorrow, Team Supreme

We started off with a good morning bite where Jeff Hoover pull in a 78 lb. bluefin. We also caught some smaller grade bluefin and a nice grade of yellowfin. However it was short lived. By 9am we were off scratching for small, medium and nice grade albacore for the rest of the day. For this trip we scratched away every day and caught enough fish for everyone to take home. Our eta for tomorrow will be 7:30 am and then Drew will take out the next one which is the 2nd annual Let's Talk Hook-up Charter. Weather has been excellent. Well it's time to go down for dinner. You know today I was thinking what a great job I have! Of course the weather is flat calm, that helps. No we didn't kick the heck out of a bunch of fish, but I did get to fish all day and was not stuck in traffic once. We did land 18 school Tuna and 5 nice yellowtail, on kelp's, Dolphin, blind jig strikes and other assorted methods. We saw close to a hundred pie plate size baby turtles, along with fin-back whales, blue whales, and big albatross birds.The day was finished with good news from our buddy boat who had some incredible yellowtail fishing in which we will be waking up to bright and early tomorrow morning! Hello Everyone, We just returned from our annual Steele 5 day charter. Hosted of course by the one and only Archie Steele. Two things come to mind when this trip rolls around, central valley anglers that love to put fish on the boat and a whole slew of summer produce that we don't normally get our hands on. Yellow Peaches and Asparagus aside we rolled into the yellowtail zone bright and early. There was good sign there and we began fishing. To our pleasant surprise we began landing beautiful 15-20lb yellowfin tuna! A welcome sight, especially because the average size recently was on the smaller side. As we settled in the Yellows got on us pretty good. Helping get the rust off for most of these anglers. Around late morning our current died and we went into a sort of midday lul. We were still able to hang a fish every now and then but not like before. Thankfully it did fire up again around 330, and this time it was hot and heavy. Very steady yellow tail action, had one going the whole time with flurries of 5-7 at a time. All large 20-28lb beautiful yellowtail. Couldn't ask for a better average! We spent the latter part of the trip trying to top off our yellowtail counts and also catch a few exotics. We spent the day searching high and low for Yellows and Dorado. Never got the boomer hit that we were hoping for but we were able to scratch up a handful of Dorado and some more great sized yellowtail. That concluded our five day adventure. Good fishing on great sized Yellowfin tuna, Yellowtail, and Dorado. A great variety trip that kept us on our feet the whole time. Id like to thank Archie again for putting this trip together and look forward to fishing again next year. We are headed out today for five. Will report again soon, Team Supreme
