After a couple of slow days for the fleet we decided to go out on a search mission. Our morning was spent chasing 30 lb bluefin that weβre very difficult to hook. Around 12:30 our sonar lit up with the sweet sound of shallow, spread out yellowfin tuna. After 3 1/2 hours and ten short stops. Our 30 anglers were able to drop 123 yellowfin and 1 bluefin into the refrigerated Sea Water. Best success came on flyline bait on 25-40 lb, colt snipers and poppers. We will continue to fish offshore and target whatever we see.

Good evening folks from the bridge of the Polaris Supreme. Let me just start off by telling you how beautiful of a night it is out here. First of all the ocean is flat calm. Just a super light breeze and no sea. It's almost like we're in the bay right now. The moon is full, huge and bright as can be and it's lighting up the night.
We left today on an Eric Rogger 5 day charter. I think it's in the 30's on number of consecutive years he's been doing this one so our hat goes off to him. Owner/operator Tommy is back on board so I'll be running as second captain this trip. I think the sardines grew about 90 percent in length and weight since the last time we got bait 3 days ago. They're lunkers. They'll make great yellowtail bait and I'll bet the bluefin will dig them, we'll have to see about them yellowfin.
I guess you can tell by my questioning of the last paragraph that we didn't get in them this afternoon. The darn fish just moved too far away for us to reach on our departure day today. We got there minutes late but there was some pretty darn good hits this evening so we're excited about tomorrow.

Slow day today. We didn't catch much fish due to the lack of current everywhere. We started in yesterdays honey hole for us. We caught one. Then we took a tour. Our next stop was the mainland. We caught one. No current. We then took another tour pretty much for the rest of the day. We did get 1st and 2nd place of the jackpot handled during one of our stops. A couple 35-40 pounders. We caught a few yellows here and there through out the day but nothing special.
What was special was our weather today. Flat calm, no wind, and sunny and beautiful. We looked at a lot of this Island today and I thought it was lovely. I don't think it would have been so enjoyable had we not had two full fish holds already. But we did so it was. Now we're headed up and it couldn't be nicer. Hopefully that storm out there won't effect our ride tomorrow. I want this out here forever.
