Captain Andrew Viola checked I with a wrap-up from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing.  Our first trip was a success..  We had a mix of Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna.  Including action on 50 pound Bluefin Tuna. We did have a few bigger models too.

We are happy to be back at it and we look forward to fishing with you this Summer.

Thanks for the amazing response to the OPEN Shimano Charters we scheduled for the Channel Islands this spring. The response was so positive that I spoke with the folks at Shimano and they agreed to put another trip on line. This one will be set for fishing on March 13. That would be departing at 9pm on the night of the 12th. This trip will be just like the others. Shimano will provide a bunch of outfits for fishing butterfly and lucanus systems. There will be give aways of tackle and goodies as well. Please email me if you would like to join us on this trip.

 Good evening all and welcome back once again to the Polaris Supreme.  Well we're in November now and with that comes a true fall 10 day trip.  We took some time off if you didn't notice.  We spent 2 weeks dockside with just a little bit of boat work to do so we had some time to ourselves.  I didn't follow what the other crew did too much.  I was to busy with a 7 month old which by the way is getting better and better and I didn't think it could.  She's hard to leave but fishing calls.

 So we're off and running.  We got a full load of should be good bait and we're headed to destinations undecided at the moment.  One thing we know is we'll be in full travel mode tomorrow so we'll have a relaxing day of tackle rigging and seminars.  The fishing sounds pretty fair at the moment.  Plenty of action on smaller grade of 10-30 pound fish in areas.  There is also some wahoo to catch if your timing is good.  There hasn't been sign of any big tuna in about a week now but we may be able to blame windy conditions and a very bright moon on that.  Right now things are changing and for us, we hope that's a good thing.

 One last thing.  It's Movember and I am sporting a very creepy stache right now.  It's a 2 week stache and it's just not long enough to look cool yet.  But I guess it's a good cause.  My hero's on the LA Clippers think so anyways.  I'll check back tomorrow but I dought(spell check tells me that dought is spelled wrong.  Facebook the right way please} I'll have much to report it being a travel day and all.
        

Spent most of day searching for yellowtail in extremely clean water and very strong current. Our search for gamefish came up empty but our 50 passengers enjoyed some fine shallow water bottom fishing. We ended up with 150 Whitefish, 50 Rockfish, 30 Sculpin, 10 Sheephead, and 10 Bonito. Tommy Rothery docked his Polaris Supreme at Fisherman's Landing July 31 after an open-party trip of five days with 23 anglers. Rothery was enthusiastic about both the quality and the quantity of fish he encountered at the islands and on kelps. Several youngsters were aboard, and they enjoyed catching and releasing yellowtail and dorado, while keeping a few of the larger models to take home. Some of them posed with their catch at the scales. "We released an awful lot of fish," said Tommy. Matt Herrington of Huntington Beach won the jackpot for a 36.6-pound yellowtail that fell for his sardine on a Mustad 91450 hook in the 2/0 size. He said he fished with 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon leader, 40-pound P-Line, a Trinidad 40 reel and a Calstar six and a half-foot rod. Scott Oberg of El Centro won second place for a 32-pound yellowtail. Steve Algrim of Long Beach took third place for a 26.2-pound yellowtail, and the trip posed at the head of the dock.

36 mahi 67 hamachi. Unable to find the glory kelp but still managed to scratch out a day.
