Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute gave us a wrap for todays trip, it was a light load of only 11 anglers and it turned out to be a great day on the water. We ended the day with limits of Yellowfin Tuna, 44 Yellowtail and 1 Bluefin Tuna. We have another 1.5 day trip leaving tomorrow night, if you want some Tuna or Yellowtail for your 4th of July BBQ now is the time. Skipper JJ Gerritsen returned with his Apollo to Fisherman's Landing November 21, after an eight-day, ultra-limited trip. The boat's ten passengers fished Guadalupe Island before taking off for Magdalena Bay to fish big tuna on their final day. "All of our long range trips are ultra-limited," said JJ. "It takes away competition factors, we won't do more than ten passengers. We got limits of yellowfin, Guadalupe's been great our last six trips, but we did something different this time; we headed out for a shot at these big ones. All of our fish are kept in refrigerated saltwater, so they still look great." Matt Bowland of Encinitas took home the best tuna; a 224-pound yellowfin that fought "long and hard." Matt used a 6/0 Owner ringed Super Mutu hook, on an 80-pound P-Line topshot, 100-pound Spectra, a Tiagra 30 reel and a Calstar Grafighter 765 H rod. "I butt-hooked the sardine," said Matt. "The fight lasted two and a half hours." Drew Card of San Diego was second with a 196-pound tuna, and Craig Biddick of Rancho Santa Fe was third for a 164-pounder.

Hello Everyone, Today we had another outstanding day of fishing. Lots of Bluefin in the 20-40lb range as well as some great grade Yellowtail. We spent the afternoon trying to make some bait for tomorrow. We caught Spanish mackerel pretty steady for a while before the wind forced us to head to the anchorage for the night. Tomorrow we will start by targeting Yellowtail and chasing big ones in the evening. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-26-2018 Our early departure paid off today! We were able to get into the island early enough to get the tuna located and get a good bite on them in the afternoon. The fish were mostly 60 to 80 pound range, maybe a few bigger. Our big fish was 145 pounds! One of the guys got three several guys got two and most everybody else got a least one. Our weathers great, we have a great group of passengers and were all having a wonderful time. Will check in with you tomorrow! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

The fish were a little off today. We hit schools all day and just never got the right one to bite. Scott released a 185 lb. and a 100 pounder. Al released a 115 lb., 170 lb., and a 190 lb. tuna. Roger released a 120 lb. and kept a 220 lb. tuna. Tom released a 190 pounder. And George released a 100 lb., a 115 lb., and a 140 pounder. Weather is still beautiful. Lunch was pastrami and swiss on rye and a clam shell pasta. Dinner New York steaks. Hors d'oeuvres were sashimi and sushi. Hopefully all this fish we saw today bites a little better tomorrow.

Looks like we have some very strong winds coming on Friday and Saturday. If you plan on fishing this weekend. Sunday will probably be the best day.
