ausable Fishing Report 2025

Good afternoon Sports fans from the bridge of the Polaris Supreme. So this will be our last travel day report. Starting tomorrow, it'll be test time for the OTR crew, time to let them apply what they've learned in all of our seminars. This morning after breakfast, we gave our final seminar. Tuned the guys up on stand-up fishing, both harness style and using the rail. We also talked about various different styles of kite rigs. There isn't much more we can say, now it's time for hands on and see who payed attention in class.  The rest of the day is just going to be spent fine tuning all of the gear, tightening up any loose ends and getting a good night sleep because tomorrow is game time! Hi friends. Great morning for us here on the Supreme. We worked our way up to the Yellowfin zone last night/early this morning and we were pleasantly surprised when we woke up on the grounds to find good working weather. With that, we got on a school this morning that produced easy Mexican daily limits for us in one stop. The grade of fish was 18-25 lbs. with a few bigger and smaller mixed in, they bit really well for us.

What turned on in the afternoon was the weather and we're presently bumping up the line to finish off our trip on Bluefin tomorrow. The boats in the area reported excelent, scores so we're hoping to use up the rest of our energy on the BFT's manana before we have to call it a trip.

Anyways, the passengers are doing fine; downstairs watching "Eastbound and Down" and getting ready to eat some of Chef Shawn's Asian-inspired ribs and hunker down for the remainder of the evening. We'll see how our weather shapes up but it's supposed to come down. We'll see. We'll chat with you tomorrow for a wrap-up report.

Our fishing took a big step in the right direction today. We landed 9 bluefin from 30 to 140 lbs. very good sign of 25-75 pounders. Come prepared with a variety of line sizes from 25-80 lb.

Good evening everyone, We spent the day traveling up the line through some snotty weather. However it did ease up after dinner. Hopefully we have the makings for a nice night of sleep tonight before our 530 am eta tomorrow morning. This was a tough trip but everyone kept their head up and persisted through and fished hard the entire time. Although we only had a few windows of biting fish we made the most out of it. There were many familiar faces on this charter and many new faces who decided to join us. We enjoyed having all of you out with us and look forward to seeing you out with us net year. Tony “Big Delicious” LaDell with 4 of the 50 yellowfin we landed today. We also had 101 skipjack. Still plenty of fish around, all it takes is one stop.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in this evening with a report from the San Diego. We had a private charter with 37 anglers. Captain Taro put the charter on 137 Yellowfin Tuna, 22 Yellowtail, and a few Skipjack. Tuna fishing remains excellent. Now that the kids are back in school we should have excellent fishing with lighter loads and less pressure. We are moving into San Diego's prime months of September and October. Talk to you later!

Today our passengers made it thru the strong south wind, fought off the morning sickness, and were rewarded with 93 yellowfin tuna and 108 skipjack tuna. Our schools would go back and forth from aggressive to line shy. A wise angler would have a variety of line sizes from 20 to 50 lb. small hooks are very important. Size 2 Mustad 94150 or something similar.

Report 7-23-2016 Good Evening everyone. We cleared the point today around 1 o clock with a beautiful load of mid sized sardines. Immediately we were in the midst of a weird local weather system consisting of a unusual south wind and a choppy south swell. The conditions made it a little rough for the first hour or so, but then started to calm down and we eventually we settled into a nice downhill ride for dinner. Coincidentally around dinner time we came across a couple schools of yellowfin tuna. We made a quick drift before first call and was able to hook and land one. We may have only landed one but the grade of the fish was excellent. A solid 18 lb Tuna, a very refreshing grade of fish compared to the 10 ponders we have been seeming earlier this summer. Hopefully there is something to this and it builds into a legitimate biting school of fish. Very excited to see what the next few days hold. Unfortunately our second to none fish care had the fish spiked, bled, and into the frigid RSW fish hold before the camera was able to make its way down from the wheelhouse. So no picture was taken.We are traveling down tomorrow and will start fishing bright and early.Wish us luck!Team supreme
