virginia saltwater Fishing Report 2025

Hello Everyone, Today was a great day. Yellowfin to start the morning and Yellowtail and Grouper during the day. We did not catch a whole lot of Grouper but the ones we caught were big one. We cannot wait to weigh them at the dock. We will be working up the line tonight in search of Yellowtail tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme Pictured here is Jim with a nice Dorado in the dark.

July 24

Good evening everyone. Today was more of the same as the last couple days. Still seeing tons of fish. Still struggling to get bites. Same thing. See a school, stop and catch fish one at a time. The cool thing about it is we're stopped fishing a lot more then regular fishing days so we're staying occupied. The only thing different for us today was that we saw multiple schools of big bluefin. The 50-80 pound stuff but it's even harder to get one of those to bite. We ended up hooking a few and landing a couple of 70 pounders. We'll do it again for one more day, the last fishing day of this trip. Hopefully they'll want to bite better tomorrow. There is no way we would leave this zone with all the fish we are seeing.

We departed today on Joe Beck's 5-day charter. Good group of guys, good weather, now let's hope for some good fishing. Thanks, Tommy

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this afternoon with an update from the Tribute. We are having very good Yellowfin Tuna just South of San Clemente Island. There is a mix of Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack, and Dorado. We have 180 Yellowfin Tuna and they are biting on everything. Drew and the guys got in this morning off of Garth Kubeldis's Optima 1-1/2 day charter. They had a great catch for only 16 anglers fishing at 150 miles. The total was 39 bluefin, average weight being 29 lbs., 3 yellowfin, one being the jackpot fish at 35 lbs., and 11 yellowtail.

The POLARIS SUPREME is on line for an open party 2-day trip leaving Wednesday to target the bluefin again. At 10:00 am this morning one boat had just reached over 50 fish in the same area Drew was in and the rest of the fleet was heading that way. Today we went out with 35 passengers and the yellowtail pulled a no show. The conditions at the Coronado islands were actually nicer today than yesterday. I honestly believe that the yellowtail are still at the islands however we never found them today. We will give it another shot tomorrow. It would be a good idea to start bringing out your bait rods. 25-30 lb. is perfect for live bait fishing.

Captain Andrew Viola called in late last night at 11:15 PM.  We just wrapped up an overnight charter.  It was a tough morning the fish slept in.  The fish showed up later in the day and we managed 3 Bluefin Tuna (up to 120 pounds).  It was a very encouraging sign of fish once we got on them.  

We had a 2 day Izorline trip tonight and we have a SOLD OUT trip departing Friday night.
