Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-13-2016 We had another fun day today! Today was a little different though most of the fun was catching fish not traveling. We had very good yellowtail fishing all day, we started off right at the crack of dawn with flurry fishing which progressed into a wide-open bite for several hours and then flurry fishing again! After a midday low it all started up again through the rest of the day. We were catching fish mostly on bait. Fly lighting was number one with dropper loop fishing coming in a close second. We didn't have a lot of jig fish but that probably was contributed to the fact that we didn't have anyone fishing jigs most of the time. Weather is excellent and were hoping to do this again tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in the Polaris Supreme Team!

Captain Mike Pritchard called this afternoon and called in to report 45 Yellowfin Tuna in the 12 to 18 pound class. We did hook up a few larger Bluefin Tuna but lost them all. We are now in the zone and look forward to putting together a nice catch. We will be fishing this area all day tomorrow as we are on a 2.5 day trip. Stay tuned ...

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-19-2016 Okay we departed last night on Paul Hess's annual five day trip. We got another great group of folks and a nice load of bait to take down to the tuna and yellowtail grounds. The two pictures at the scale are of Jack and Kenny with their jackpot bluefin tuna one weighed about 124 and the other weighed about 120. We are looking offshore today and at this moment striking out. We have not put a fish on board. Have only found two scraggly kelp's and no schools of tuna. Weather is good and our expectations are high. Hopefully our evening report is a little bit more exciting than this one. The first picture that we put up today is a color water temperature chart of the area around Guadalupe Island. We would love to make a nice catch on the yellowtail in the next couple of days and be able to go scout out some new country for yellowfin tuna! It's a little hard to go out searching that far offshore though without something on board. Wish us luck! The Polaris supreme crew

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 12-06-2018 We took a break today from tuna fishing and concentrated mainly on yellowtail and had fair success. Mostly 14 to 15 pounder grade with a few 20 pounders thrown in. We have had a great time here at Guadalupe on our OTR seven-day but now it's time to head for home. So far our ride is beautiful in calm seas! We will be clearing Ensenada tomorrow around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Ryan Bostian called in from the San Diego with this report, "As it stands right now we are only about 30 miles from homw and we have about 150 Yellowtail on the boat, 6 Bluefin tuna & 6 or 7 Dorado.                 Hello everyone and welcome.  We are back in action.  I'm sorry we had to take some time off but the baby missed her daddy.  The Syd monster held up the whole operation.  After a week with me though she said "OK dad, you can go now".  You see, she understands dad has a mortgage to pay.  OK, enough of that.  We departed this evening for a quickie.  1.5 days.  We have bait.  We got quite a bit more than I thought we would out of our one box.  It's pretty much straight mackerel though.  There's some sardine but not a lot.  We'll see how they like them.  They are the bluefin.  We chose to hunt the blues.  They're such a nice grade of fish.  Better than the 5 pound yellowfin that's around.  Here we go again.
