13 bluefin tuna from 40 to 80 lbs and 2 yellowtail. Come prepared with a 25 lb setup for kelp fish and smaller tuna. A 40 or 50 lb setup for flylining sardines at the 60-80 lb tuna and a 60 or 80 lb setup for flatfalling. Fluorocarbon is a must as well as size 1 to 2/0 circle hooks. Come take advantage of this rare opportunity to catch a true trophy fish in local waters without trolling.

39 pass. 195 skipjack tuna, and 2 yellowtail. Very good action in very good weather.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego. Today we had a light load of 12 anglers. We decided to move offshore and we had a very good day. We ended up with 60 Yellowtail (LIMITS). We also saw a spot of Bluefin Tuna. But we did not hook one.

If you want to come out with us bring a 25 to 30 pound bait rod. Also bring 40, 50, or 60 pound outfit for Bluefin Tuna. It was about this time last year that we started seeing those nice big Bluefin Tuna.

Hello everyone, Yesterday we departed on our Billy Stephens 7 day trip. This trip grew from a five day to a seven day. We are excited to be able to take this charter to a new neck of the woods and try for some new species that would not normally be possible on a five day. Today was mainly a travel day and was spent assembling our Wahoo rigs and leaders. An all day task that will hopefully pay off with some alligator sized Wahoo tomorrow. Hi friends. We arrived this morning to Fisherman's Landing on-time and unloaded our catch from the Joe Beck/Bob Vance 5-day trip and big fish honors go as followed: Dan "Re-Ride" Burns and Tim Dughi tied for first with their 30.4 lb. Yellowtail and Uncle Norman Wintjen took third place with his 23.4 lb. Yellowtail. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to Joe Beck and the gang for yet another great trip. We'll see y'all next year. Anyhow, we departed on Garry Roberts annual 9-day adventure and Garry has brought along with him the usual suspects and everyone is antsy to see what the southern-most destinations of Baja California Sur have to offer. For a little warm-up, we'll be giving the Bluefin/Yellowfin area a short try tomorrow morning before we continue on to greater points south. Wish us luck and we'll chat with you tomorrow.

The San Diego finished today with 23 yellowfin 42 skipjack. Still plenty of fish out there. Make those reservations.

Captain Jodie Morgan called in from The Apollo. We just returned from a 2.5 day trip and we had limits of Yellowtail and 52 Bluefin Tuna (25 to 65 pounds). If you are interested in jumping on the Apollo call the chartermaster Allan 714-797-9030 to get in on a Two Day trip July 17th and 18th.

Hi friends. We arrived back to the docks this morning at 06:30 hours and did our usual offloading procedures. Unloaded Tom and the boys, their gear, their beautiful load of Bluefin and Yellowtail, loaded groceries, cleaned the boat, cleaned the fish holds, refueled, changed oil/fuel filters, the girls made up the bunks with fresh linens and cleaned, freshwater the boat, vaccuum the upper deck/wheelhouse, clean/restock the galley, do the windows, load our new passengers and their gear, and take off for another adventure all within 4 hours of docking. We hustle, we know. We also managed a mass substitution of team members. Riddler, Jed, Shawn, and Dee headed for home and Drew, Matt, Schooler, and Ali relieved the gang from last trip.

With that, we headed to the bait recievers, loaded up on a decent load of sardines, and cleared the point by noon. After Schoolers famous bratwurst lunch, we knocked out our tackle seminar and hung out for a bit until we started fishing around 17:00 hours.

Our fishing was just OK. We managed to land a couple handfuls of Bluefin in the 30 lb. range before the sun settled below the horizon and nightfall ended our day. It was a very picky bite but the quality is what we're likin' the most. We're going to enjoy our traditional first night dinner of prime rib, idle downswell for a calm dinner seating/comfy nights sleep, and hit this again first thing tomorrow morning.

In closing, we're hopeful about the potential for tomorrow. Our weather is a bit sloppy but it's plenty fishable; just a tad bit wet and windy. Anyhow, we're here and we're looking forward to snappin' Bluefin tomorrow morning. Wish us luck.
