Captain Ryan Bostian called in this evening with an update from “The San Diego” out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had a light load. We had 17 anglers catch 85 Yellowtail (up to 20 pounds). The Yellowtail are mainly in the 4 to 10 pound class but we did have a nice one today that was 20 pounds. There are Bluefin Tuna in the area but we did not catch any of them today. RECOMMENDED TACKLE 25 pound bait rod - 25 pound mono with a short 25 pound fluorocarbon. This outfit is excellent for the Yellowtail and smaller Bluefin Tuna. Be sure to use 1 or 1o hooks. 50 pound bait rod - 50 pound mono with a short 50 pound fluorocarbon leader. You will need 2o hooks for your heavy bait rod. Flat Fall rod - 7 or 8 foot rod with a Talica 12. Use 65 or 80 pound spectra with a short 80 fluorocarbon leader.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in with a wrap-up from the Tribute's overnight trip today. We had 18 Bluefin Tuna and 16 yellowtail. We did have one Jumbo Bluefin at 70 pounds. Capt Ryan Bostain checked in from the San Diego the 3/4 day boat out of Seaforth Landing to report that the Yellowtail are starting to bite down at the Coronados. Yesterday we had 96 Yellowtail and today we 114 Yellowtail for 30 anglers, come on down the are biting everything. We are getting them on surface iron, yoyo jigs, dropper loops and fly lining baits, the water is very nice and clean. When you come down make sure to bring your passport as it is required.

21 anglers on the boat and have 22 Bluefin on the deck. Majority of fish are 60-80 pound range. A couple are smaller and bigger.

10 bluefin tuna 2 yellowfin tuna. We are seeing fish from 10 lbs to over 200 pounds. A 25 lb bait rod, a 40 lb bait rod and a 50,60 or 80 lb rod is recommended. If you do not own the proper tackle. Seaforth is renting 50 lb rods with a 2 speed reel. These rental rods have already conquered a lot of our fish.

Today we went out with 33 anglers and caught 54 yellowtail. The hot ticket today was a scrambled egg colored yo-yo lure. Make sure you bring fresh 40 or 50 lb mono on your yo-yo rod. The ocean was a little bumpy today but it is forecasted to get better. Overall conditions look very good in the area, don't miss out !

Today on the San Diego, 28 passengers got their Mexican limits of Yellowtail, hooked some Dorado.
