Captain Ryan Bostian called in this morning. We are operating 3/4 day trips everyday out of Seaforth Landing. The fishing at the Coronado Islands have been good for Yellowtail. We have also seen Wahoo at the Islands. A passport is required for all reservations for fishing at the Coronado Islands.  Good evening everyone and happy Halloween.  Things didn't fair too well for us this morning at last weekends hot tuna spot.  You can tell it was a week closer to November because there were only 4 of us there compared to 15 of us there last week.  Anyways, like I said, things didn't fair too well for us there.  That doesn't mean the tuna weren't there though.  At least one of the boats there did well today.  We didn't have the patience for it today though.  At least not for the veal grade, so we took off at lunch time.  We took off in search of dorado.  And wouldn't you know it, things worked out.  We found three productive kelps this afternoon.  The last kelp almost being a fixer upper.  So it worked out.  We had a good day.  130+ fish day.  That'll do.

 So we'll be in for the week, and we're going to come back out here again next Friday.  We're going to bring along with us the Inside Sportfishing crew.  They want to do an episode so if that sounds like something you may be interested in, we'd love to have you.  And then after that we leave on a 10 day.  So if that sounds like something you may be interested in, we loved to have you then as well.

Hi friends. Yellowtail fishing was off the hook this morning -- or, on the hook, depending on which way you look at it. Fifteen to twenty-eight pound fish just kept coming over the rail and we also had a few flatheads as well. It was all you could've wanted on fly-lined sardines, yo-yo jigs, and surface jigs too but we only took a few boxes to break up the morning and from there, we ventured offshore with the hopes of finding something floating for dorado and wahoo.

Let me tell you, trying to locate kelps in eighty degree water is a difficult task and although we did get lucky and found a couple scraps, they weren't holding all that much. However, we did troll up a few legitimate ball-slappers, a marlin (healthy release), and one really nice wahoo at dusk caught by Mike Henry. His wahoo looks to be in the fifty to sixty pound range and he coaxed that fat skinny into latching onto a purple and black Marauder. Good going, Mike.

For tomorrow, we'll be fishing for all kinds of species but our main target is wahoo. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Our weather is just splendid and the all-day bronze-a-thon continues. I'm starting to look like Hulk Hogan out here. Supreme guns. Later.

Our partnership with the best live bait boats in the world allowed us to catch 126 yellowfin from 15-25 lbs and 13 bluefin from 30-50 lbs. a 20 lb rod with a #2 hook, a 30 lb rod with a #1 or #2 hook and a 40 lb rod with a #1 hook is all you need. Please be sure to have at least 150 feet of mono on top of your braid. Shock absorption is very important when fighting a fish on a small hook. Fish the heaviest line the fish are willing to bite.

4 yellowtail and plenty of rockfish. We saw a couple nice schools of yellowtail. They act like cold water fish !

Happy fourth of July! Well things didn't improve much, just a handful or so, so we are heading back up to finish off our excellent albacore trip with some local fishing. We will be at the dock Thursday morning at 7:30.
