After two trips in a row without seeing yellowtail. This morning we were pleasantly surprised when we located a nice school first thing in the morning. After a hectic 10 minute drift with our 48 anglers we had four 13-19 pound yellowtail on the deck. All four of our yellows were taken on yo-yo jigs. The rest of our trip was spent catching whitefish and rockfish with a few sheephead mixed in. Our afternoon yellowtail hunt came up empty. Fish Count = 4 yellowtail 14 sheephead 1 lingcod 215 whitefish 107 rockfish.

24 yellowtail 1 bluefin. Still fish around but the changing conditions have them acting up.

We departed today on the "Let's Talk Hook-up" charter with Rock Cod Rick and 21 anglers. Things sound very promising on the albacore grounds so that is where we are headed. The weather is sloppy and we are hoping it will lay down. Tune in tomorrow for an update.

The Apollo had another successful overnight trip up the coast. They had limits of rockfish. The weather is great and they will be fishing the island tomorrow.

Reed Fiori checked in tonight with an audio update for The San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing. Today we had 24 anglers catch 52 Yellowtail and 20 Bonito. We had plenty of opportunities today. The Yellows are currently down deep. We are catching them with heavy YoYo Jigs. Bee sure to use a large monofilament top-shot. We are also getting some fish on the dropper loop too. Good evening Polaris Supreme fans.  Checking in from the tuna grounds.  This morning started out at at  with kites in the sky and lines in the water right away.  We were hoping to start the day off by seeing a school of Skipjack or small tuna below the boat to use as bait, but they didn't seem to find us.  Foe those who don't know, that is candy for giant yellowfin.  As the progressed, we did however see an increase in shark life.  That seemed to be the trend today.  We did manage to land a handful of tuna from 50-100 lbs, with Bill Mikkelson leading the pack with a nice 169 lb tuna.  At the the age of 84, he's still showing the young guys how it's done.  There was certainly good sign of life as we drove around trolling for wahoo, which we managed to throw another handful of on deck.   Speaking of wahoo, Chef Mike served an amazing wahoo melt sandwich today for lunch that was to die for.  A slow day of fishing can always be cured by a nice eal, and Mike never fails to deliver.
