ma Fishing Report 2025

Hello everyone, Day one was rather uneventful after checking out the yellowfin tuna grounds. We were able to scratch away at a couple fish on jig strikes and porpoise schools, but it wasn't the big hit we were hoping for. These fish are very finicky, and aren't sticking with the boat like we need them to.With a plethora of other sport boats in the area, these fish have been getting hit pretty hard recently. 211 yellowfin 2 bluefin out of one 5 mile drift. Hook size is crucial in getting bites. Match the hook size to your line size and bait. Check with the crew on the way out to make sure what you’re tying on is what we recommend.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-01-2018

A little slower today but we still had lots of fun! Some more nice grade yellowfin and a few yellowtail thrown in. Good weather as you can see in the pictures! Fish started biting in the dark and we got our last fish in the dark. One more day wish us luck! We still have some openings on our six day after Thanksgiving if you want to come give this a try.

 We hit the yellowtail grounds today. Not until 9:30. I started looking at 0400 but we weren't there until 9:30. "There" is where we had some good tailing. There's not a whole lot to write about it. We were there, and they were hitting. Most everyone was dropping jigs down and winding them back fast to achieve there tails. Before lunch I was considering fishing yellowtails tomorrow morning before traveling all day to put us in position for tuna the following day, but when I went in to eat lunch, there were 10 fish in the box. The crew dropped them, when I came back out there were 3 in the box and everyone was leaning against the rail not fishing except 3 passengers and 1 of those had 1 hanging. I got the hint. They caught enough yellowtail and they want tuna now. So we'll be traveling all day tomorrow to put ourselves in position to fish bluefin the following day weather pending.

 The weather today was windy, but the further north we get now the less wind there is. It's a nice ride now.

Pretty darn good fishing once again today, 26 Bluefin and 1 Yellowtail. Please make sure your gear is in good working order, I really should have taken pictures of some of the gear failures.

7 bluefin. Saw plenty of fish but never found the right school at the right time. All it takes is one stop.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-11-16 Today we are going to start out our report by telling Carla Studley that her husband Tom Studley would like to tell her he loves her and has been happy to have been married to her for so many wonderful years. Happy Anniversary Carla and Tom! After writing that last sentence I just found out that Mark and Eve on board are having an anniversary today! Congratulations to you two also! Well on to fishing. I don't know where they came from I'm glad they did we just had a great day Wahoo fishing! What a great place to celebrate your anniversary for Mark and Eve catching Wahoo on board the Polaris supreme! At least you get the benefit at home Carla with Wahoo tacos Wahoo Almond Dean and what ever delicious dish you can come up with. We have great weather and are having a fantastic time out here we are hoping the Wahoo are going to stick around inside here like they were today, that would be fantastic to do this two days in a row! Today we went out with 33 anglers and caught 54 yellowtail. The hot ticket today was a scrambled egg colored yo-yo lure. Make sure you bring fresh 40 or 50 lb mono on your yo-yo rod. The ocean was a little bumpy today but it is forecasted to get better. Overall conditions look very good in the area, don't miss out !
