Capt Ryan Bostain checked in from the San Diego the 3/4 day boat out of Seaforth Landing to report that the Yellowtail are starting to bite down at the Coronados. Yesterday we had 96 Yellowtail and today we 114 Yellowtail for 30 anglers, come on down the are biting everything. We are getting them on surface iron, yoyo jigs, dropper loops and fly lining baits, the water is very nice and clean. When you come down make sure to bring your passport as it is required.

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

Hi friends. We departed this evening at 1800 hours on another day and a half trip with a group of eager anglers and the voice of Let's Talk Hook-Up, Mr. Pete Gray. We loaded up on a beautiful load of sardines at the receivers and although we didn't get a full load of bait, we have plenty and the load is very healthy looking. Let's hope that we have something to throw them at tomorrow. We'll be on the hunt for yellowfin and dorado on kelps but we'll also take an open-water sonar school if one happens to present itself. With a favorable weather outlook and a good load of bait, we're anxious to get down to the zone. We'll chat with you tomorrow.

It was slow work as there were 25 squid caught for 20 anglers on a calm sea with hit or miss stops.

Capt Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute with a fantastic on the water report for today, so far we have limits of some really nice grade Dorado and a couple Yellowtail. The Dorado were in mid to high 20 lb range, we then started searching for tuna and decided to put out some Wahoo jigs and we did manage to get a couple nice 50 lb plus Wahoo for out efforts. Hi friends. We departed on our second day and a half trip this evening and --to everyones surprise-- loaded up with some healthy looking sardines. We'll see how they live throughout the night but we're happy with what we see so far. Sounds like the fishing is good offshore on some footballs but those healthy bluefin made an appearance today as well. With a good looking weather forecast on the horizon, we're excited to get down to the zone and see what we can do.

We'll chat with you tomorrow and report on our day. Wish us luck and hopefully, we'll do better than the NFL replacement officials did this season. Take care.

 We fished today with all our buds.  Obviously it was the best game in town.  We had boats from San Diego up to Ventura all nestled in sharing the same honey hole.  15 of us to be exact.  It all worked out though.  It was a nice spread of fish.  Everyone was able to scratch.  Scratch, scratch, scratch.  From after daylight until after lunch.  Then things went dead for the most part, so we pulled anchor and found a nice school to drift on.  After a long drift the day was pretty much over.  We drove around, made another anchor job but the fish were done.  Just like us.  We're done for the week.  It's up to you whether or not we fish this next up coming weekend.  Halloween weekend.  See you there?

 Oh, the fish today were tuna.  Yellowfin.  Smaller.  We had a couple handfuls of 30-40 pounders first thing, but as soon as the current picked up, for some reason the bigguns split.  So we stayed busy with the smaller ones.  Veal.  Oh, and they found sardine again.  Loaded up.  So don't worry 10 dayers.

Nicer weather= nicer fishing ! The underwater binoculars had us stopping regularly on 12-20 lb yellowtail. Yo-yo jigs on 40 & 50 lb was the hot setup.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in a few minutes ago with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. We have been fishing the Coronado Islands recently with light loads. Today we had very good fishing. We had 11 anglers catch 28 Yellowtail. The fishing offshore has been tough!
