Captain Aliyar called in with us today from the Polaris Supreme:

We just got tied up from a 1.5 Day. We had a pretty good trip out there and ended with 28 Bluefin Tuna from 30-110 pounds. We saw a really good sign of fish out there, so that’s pretty encouraging. We did see some of that bigger grade fish, but only got a few.

Hey guys Ryan from the San Diego here! Today we went out with 25 passengers and caught 15 yellowtail. The style of fishing we are doing right now is a lot like offshore fishing. Lots of driving and looking. Our crew has been burning there eyes all day in the binoculars. Those who have patience and are willing to put in the work have been rewarded with a very large yellowtail. In the past 4 days we have caught 5 fish over 30 lbs. Our bites have been coming on both yo-yo and surface lures. Grab some fresh 40lb. mono and come on down .

Thanks for the amazing response to the OPEN Shimano Charters we scheduled for the Channel Islands this spring. The response was so positive that I spoke with the folks at Shimano and they agreed to put another trip on line. This one will be set for fishing on March 13. That would be departing at 9pm on the night of the 12th. This trip will be just like the others. Shimano will provide a bunch of outfits for fishing butterfly and lucanus systems. There will be give aways of tackle and goodies as well. Please email me if you would like to join us on this trip.

Hello everyone, Today we wanted a Yellowtail topper, and a yellowtail topper we got! By no means wide open, but enough yellows to keep everyone busy for a half a day. The hot ticket was the famed blue and white 6x yo yo iron, tried and true for years and still holding strong today. All and all a nice day of yellowtail fishing to round out a great fall 7 day variety trip. It was really something catching Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, and Yellowtail all in one trip! Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, so after our great Yellowtail topper we pointed the boat northbound to San Diego. We are very far from home so we have another day of travel ahead of us tomorrow Another successful trip logged away here aboard Polaris Supreme! Will report again tomorrow, The Supreme Team. Hi friends. Flat calm weather, sunshine, and Yellowfin tuna was on our wish-list today and our wishes were granted. It took the fish a little while to wake up this morning but when they showed their faces, we located them and introduced ourselves. We caught fish all sorts of ways today; jumpers, puddlers, breezers, jig strikes, meter marks, sonar marks, and the fishiest birds of all, Tern birds, were helping us locate schools today. We never had a really great stop but we pieced together a lot of good stops and we ended up with a fine catch for our anglers. Throw in some Bluefin and a few nice Dorado for color and you have the recipe for a fantastic day on the water. I honestly feel that with a little less boat pressure, the schools would've been more bountiful but it's hard to find much more to complain about today other than that. Everybody had a shot at a good school and we feel fortunate to be in the zone when they did pop up. It was easy to see them pop up from just about anywhere with the weather we had today. Jock straps and sun visor weather for sure.

So that's all. We're headed up the line and wish to arrive sometime around 0900 hours in the morning. We'll see what kind of speed we make rolling up. Our next report will come to you on Thursday evening as we depart on a 1.5 day trip. Take care.

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Good evening folks. We arrived this morning at 0800 hours, unloaded our fish and guests, and departed the docks @ 1300 hours to embark on our 2-day trip. Our bait looks OK, plenty good enough for some offshore fish to accept our offerings. The reports from the area are different. As of 1830, the boats were just now starting to get some jig strikes and see more sign of fish. Nonetheless, we'll be there first thing tomorrow morning to give it a full day and see what we can come up with. The weather here and for most of the coast is absolutely gorgeous, so we like that a lot. We also like that the forecast calls for more of the same. We're hoping the weatherman is correct and the fish pop up here for us tomorrow. Wish us luck and have a great day.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. Today we had Mexican limits of Yellowtail for our 37 anglers. We have been fishing offshore and the fish are a fun grade. Please bring your 25 or 30 pound bait rod. You should also be prepared with a heavy rod for bigger Bluefin Tuna. We are starting to see them show up in the counts. Tomorrow's trip is cancelled but we will be back out it Tuesday.

Capt Ryan called in from the San Diego, they wanted everyone to know the are still fishing offshore. Today we ended the day with 105 Yellowfin Tuna and a handful of Dorado, a few Yellowtail. The fishing is still great down here, we need a few more to make tomorrows trip a go, our loads are light and the weather and the water is perfect. We depart everyday at 5:30am and return around 5pm, to book a spot give the landing a call at 619-224-3383 and get in on this action. Come on down and see us at Seaforth landing.

Bring a yo-yo rod if you are coming out with us tomorrow. There has been some yellowtail sightings in La Jolla.
