 Strictly a couple of travel days for us on these dates.  That's three in a row now.  1 1/2 days of that in good weather and the other 1 1/2 days in choppy weather.  The boats cleaned inside and out now.  The rails have been oiled.  Now we wait and do things like we do on these days.  You should know the travel day drill by now. 

 So anyway, we're fat, happy and lazy but we need to snap out of it now because tomorrow we're going to do some fishing.  We'll be looking for a dorado kelp tomorrow.  We should only need one dorado kelp to get what we need so hopefully we can get it done.  We'll find out shortly.  the weather should be nice tomorrow which will make the kelp easier to find.
       

Aug. 10
    Well, I can't say we caught very much today.  I can say we saw plenty of schools, we just couldn't get more then one of them to bite and on that school we caught one 70 pounder.  I'm thinking we saw about a dozen schools of tuna today but like I said, it was the wrong day for biting fish in these grounds.  The weather though today, man o man is it nice out here so at least we got to look at non biting fish in good weather.

    In other fishing news we got the word from the higher ups that Mexico has lifted the ban on recreational bluefin tuna catching and keeping so with that news we're going to roll on down into some traditional Mexican bluefin tuna grounds and give that a go tomorrow.  We'll be looking for yellowfin tuna as well tomorrow.  We've heard they"re in the area too.  Wish us luck.
                            

 

Sep. 17

Our morning started off at 4:30. There was some good meter life on the first spot we looked at so we woke everyone up to try it and we had it figured out in the first 45 minutes. A few good grade yellows and a whole lot of smaller ones so we brought the lines in and continued down. An hour later we tried another spot for some more nice yellows but not enough so we continued down. The next spot a couple hours later was a disappointment. Not much yellowtail and not much wahoo. We got one wahoo almost to gaff before it spit the hook and swam away. So we continued down. The next spot we tried produced one beautiful wahoo and showed pretty decent sign of good grade yellowtails that didn't bite like you'd think. We caught some but it didn't keep us anchored up till sunset so we continued down. 1:30 hours later we were anchored up on our last spot of the evening and again it showed pretty good sign of yellows that bit pretty good for us up until dark. It was good enough to stay put and try it in the morning. We might of caught 1 million dorado today. I lost track at around one hundred and three but it might have been around 1 million. Unfortunately most of these dorado weren't much bigger then a neck tie and we let most go to fight another day. The weather was windy today. Wind and swell but for some reason it wasn't bad fishing weather. Maybe because our usual direction we worked was down but even when we would slide on a jig strike we never took any mean snaps. The wind came down after the sun went down so we're hoping it stays down.

Hello Everyone, We just wrapped up our open two day trip. Local fishing has been really tough and was no exception on this trip. We hustled, got the boat ready and departed from San Diego quickly, so we could maximize our fishing time on this two day adventure. Although we got on the grounds very quickly and were fishing fast, it still was tough. There was a lot of searching, scouring, and moving around to try and find some action. Our persistence eventually paid off when we found a couple kelp pattys with some great Yellowtail fishing. It was wall to wall action. Just what the doctor ordered. Everyone had a chance to pull on fish and get introduced to the chaos that is offshore kelp patty fishing. Through the intense action we also managed to land a beautiful Dorado, that would later take jackpot. A very trying couple of days, however we did manage to piece together some great action for our anglers. Looking forward to next year! We depart on our Emerson and friends 5 day next! Hello Everyone, Today we are traveling down the line. Mainly a rigging day for the days to come. Our sights are set on Yellowtail, Grouper, Wahoo, and Yellowfin. Great weather at the moment. Looking forward to tomorrow! Will report then, Team Supreme

Sept. 24

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. We departed this evening on a 1.5 day trip. We had a space available so we threw the trip in there and here we are. If you book it they will come. I wish it was always that easy. Anyway, we got a good load of bait number wise. We'll have to see how it lives. It lost a lot of its precious scales while we loaded it but it was swimming around the tanks well right after we loaded it like healthy bait does so we'll just have to see tomorrow. It only needs to stay alive for one day. We have some good reports in the bluefin grounds and that's where we're headed. I'll let you know how we do tomorrow tomorrow.

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP UPDATE 09-26-2020 We spent the day looking for Tuna and Wahoo without much luck. We did however get some great wide open Dorado fishing. As usual we only kept a small portion of them. The weather is a little bumpy but OK. Going to try a little nite fishing. The Polaris Supreme Crew!
