    We finished up our trip today hunting bluefin.  They weren't very friendly today.  In fact they were down right mean.  We saw a tremendous amount of fish today but very few would bite our lines.  All day long we were stopping on schools and we have 22 fish to show for it.  All of them were nice ones with the biggest going about 60 pounds.  !st and 2nd will be easy, figuring out 3rd place in the jackpot may take a while.  Alot of 45 pounders to weigh I think.

    We're headed in.  Tommy's taking the next one out, and I'll be on board.
                        

 

Captain Ryan Bostian called in tonight with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We had very good fishing today with Captain Cameron at the helm. We had 102 Yellowtail (10 to 25 pounds) and 125 Pacific Bonito. We had excellent action today. We have light loads this week.

Good evening everyone, Today we had a great day of yellowtail fishing. It was by no means a slam dunk. However our persistence paid off. The fish never seemed to settle into a certain part of the water column. The bottom dropper loop, mid water flyline with sliding sinker, and strait fly line with no weight were all working at different times. We were able to get everyone some yellows on the boat. All the yellowtail were excellent quality. 18-30 lbs, cant complain about the size! Tomorrow we are going after yellowfin tuna. Wish us luck! Team supreme

Keep Cool when it gets HOT and HEAVY! We had fantastic Yellowfin Tuna fishing today. They bit very well and grade was excellent. 15-25 lbs average with 35-40lbers mixed in. The only thing hotter than the fishing was the Baja sun. Pictured here is chef Mike bring water to crewmen Ben and the rest of the passengers during a hot bite. Hello everyone, Today we had a quick hit on the Wahoo early in the morning. After the quick hit on Wahoo the Dorado moved in and were ravenous. We looked around for more Wahoo, Tuna, and Grouper, little reward. We will be trying for Yellowtail tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Our very light load charter of 11 people had some fun finesse fishing. They were able to trick 18 bluefin 3 yellowfin 10 yellowtail and 1 bonito.

First things first !! I think a hearty Sportfishingreport.com congratulations are in order for J.J Gerritsen and the crew of the Apollo for their clean #1 sweep in annual SFR fishcount standings for 2006. Yellowfin Tuna # 1!!!!!!!!!!!, Albacore Tuna # 1!!!!!!!, Dorado #1 !!!! Very impressive numbers indeed !!!! Way to go guys, awesome year !!!!So when good friend and Santa Barbara local Doug Browand called and said a bunch of local firefighters and friends had chartered the #1 boat in the land for a little Island Freelance trip, I was packing my gear and clearing my schedule in a hurry. We loaded up on time and headed out of Sea Landing in Santa Barbara straight to Santa Rosa Island in case the squid and WSB wanted to show. J.J promised us some outrageous rockfish and lingcod action if the seabass were still MIA. We gave it a solid effort but with no signs of squid or WSB we motored up and headed out to some of Captain J.J's secret rocks and reefs. The first drift of the day produced monster reds and chuckles that rival some of the nicest and biggest rockfish I've seen and caught in many years. The Channel Islands Rockfishing is on Fire !!!!!! Throw a bunch of nice legal lings into the mix and you're talking a really fine day of fishing and a great time for all. The fishing at the Islands is only going to get better and J.J and the boys on the Apollo will be there fishing for them everyday. The last couple of days we have experienced some fun Coronado Island fishing for yellowtail, bluefin tuna, calico bass and barracuda on private charters. As a result we have switched our open party trips to Island trips. These trips will unfortunately require a passport and will begin on Monday. The best setups have been a 20 or 25 lb flyline setup and a 30-40 lb setup to fish a yo-yo lure or dropper loop. Plenty of targets for all you jig chuckers as well. The cost of this trip is $225 which includes your Mexican Fishing License, your FMM visitors visa, your biosphere reserve bracelet, plenty of live bait and 5 seasoned crewmen. Rental rods, fish cleaning and food will be extra. We have a full galley onboard with plenty of ice cold beer, soda and water. We also offer delicious burgers and all your basic breakfast items.
