Hello everyone, Today was a slow day. We spent it offshore working some great looking water stopping on kelp and other floating things. However the fish we found were not the most willing to bite. However we did finish the day successfully making mackerel for tomorrow. Hopefully the tuna and Wahoo have a taste for these local Mackerel. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

 Arrive/depart.  A quick one too.  We were out before 9:30.  We got our bait and we were gone.  We started fishing after lunch.  We had one little area that was loaded up with 5 pound skipjack.  We stopped a few times to let everyone pull and jerk on something and practice following there fish around the boat and stuff.  We had a couple kelps with a few small yellows we caught.  We unfortunately made it to our destination before dark.  I say unfortunately because we were hoping to bump into something sooner.  We saw only a few little dabs of tuna while we had light.  I mean just a few fish, and they didn't bite.  We're currently anchored in the cove here and we're enjoying a nice prime rib dinner and I think we'll sleep well tonight.

 It sounded like it was a better day around here.  Not just catching wise but fishing too.  Never thought I'd say that but what I mean is there was a bigger spread of fish seen today.  They weren't all seen in the same honey hole like most of last week.  We have high hopes for tomorrow.  Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going on break.

Polaris Supreme Report 07-26-2016 Hello everyone Today we really put the nose to the grind stone and had to work at these yellowtail. There are big fish around but they are proving to be very difficult to catch. Today we had 3 obstacles: slack current in the morning, hundreds of veracious baby yellowtail, and the famed sea lion. These mammals proved to be the toughest bout we encountered when it came to landing big fish. Many of the better quality yellowtail were lost to the sea lions including an absolute standout monster that would have went over 40 pounds. We were able to boat the fish, but not after the taxman left his mark on the portion of the belly. That aside we made out with a nice catch for the day, everyone was able to put tags on plenty of fish. It was a truly action filled day, full of hundreds of releases and hard fought battles with the sea lions with hard won success in the end. Especially our dark bite that went off right at dinner. That was all beautiful quality fish and no sea lions they were already on land sleeping. Hopefully tomorrow will be at least as good with a little less action on the sea lions . Traveled all day. Our agenda is eat, sleep and travel. Should arrive at noon. Weather is good now and we like it this way. Lunch was pork shiskabobs with whole wheat soba noodles. Thanks for checking in.

Today we went out on our daily 3/4 day trip and caught 75 yellowtail. We saw some of the biggest schools of the year today. Yo-yo lures were the best,however we did catch a few on the surface iron and fly lined bait. Our next open trip is Thursday March 28.

Aug. 14
 OK.  So once again, we were one of the lucky boats today.  Two days in a row, we're carrying the horseshoe.  We had arguably our best stop of the year this morning.  A month ago we had a day where we caught a larger quantity of yellowfin than we caught today and ultimately we caught more tonnage that day, but the quality/quantity of these yellowfin this morning were second to none in 2015.  Holy Toledo.  Same grade as yesterday.  About a 25 pound average.  One fish hold down.  We feel blessed.  It was not for everyone today unfortunately but fortunately we were one of the lucky ones.

 The afternoon stunk for us though.  It got very crowded in the zones that had fish and it made it tough to stay in those zones.  We kept wanting to leave but we wouldn't see anything when we did so we would end up back in the crowd and that fish wouldn't bite well.  It was a long afternoon but much easier to handle with one full well on board already.

 The weather was great.  Just like San Diego weather because that's where we were.  Tomorrow we're going to be concentrating on bluefin tuna.  We've caught 18 of them the last couple days and they are beautiful.  We want some more.  The boats that fished it this morning were not happy about it but we're hoping it was an off day today and they want to float tomorrow.  Timing is everything and so far our timing has been right on.  Let's keep this ball rolling.
