47 yellowtail 29 bonito 6 calico bass. A couple of good shots today. Surface iron fishing is a technique that should be attempted once you are completely comfortable with your gear. I believe that you will enjoy fishing a lot more if you become very good at bait fishing first. Flylined sardines were the most productive today.

Well today was another tough day for the whole group. A couple stops on 40-70 lb. tuna and a sprinkling of 100-120 lb. fish, but for the most part slow. The weather is still good and the food great. We had lobster salad and home made cream of chicken soup for lunch, and another superb sushi sashimi layout before a prime cut steak and potato dinner. We'll be looking at a new area tomorrow.

It was slow work as there were 25 squid caught for 20 anglers on a calm sea with hit or miss stops.

We are sending this out again. Fishing is great so hopefully this will get a few more people.

The trip is a two day that departs Thursday 9/13 at 9 p.m. fishing Friday 9/14 and Sat. 9/15. This trip is limited to 18 passengers. Cost is $650 per angler and includes food and permits. This is a great opportunity to fish on an ultra limited charter with a great group of people.

Everything is biting. Bluefin, yellowfin, yellowtail, dorado, and a bit of albacore.

We departed today on the Dan Heil Memorial charter with his son Ron Heil as charter head. It's pretty cool to see some of the old faces. Dan's charter has been with me for over 25 years. We were in a panic rush to get out and get to the local fishing grounds before dark. We got about three good hours of fishing and snagged a handful of yellowfin, a bluefin and a beautiful opah. "Today we went out we caught 28 Yellowtail. We had a couple good opportunities at them today, one in particular was a very fun stop. We ended up with 28 fish in the 15 to 25 lb. range. They are finding the fly line sardines the best on 25 lb, surface lures will work but the fly line is the best.

You go to a spot, you sit there catching nothing. All of a sudden, 15 are hooked. That is kind of the way they are behaving right now. Great day of fishing our first day out.We cleared the doc at 8 AM with bait on board. 2 hours later we where pulling 12 pound yellowtail over the side till 7pm. The weather is great and we are going to try our luck at this tomorrow.
