Good morning everyone,
Today we fished our final day of our Bogart 2 day trip. It was a day of grinding it out in the Bluefin Tuna grounds. There was a lot of tuna around it was just very finicky and we had trouble getting it to bite. We were able to land one tuna for the entire day.
What saved our bacon was the yellowtail fishing. We fished yellows the second half of the day for great quality yellows! Biggest being 48lbs!
We are in tomorrow early at 5 am, and out for seven!

27 yellowfin 21 bluefin 27 yellowtail. Shoulder and belly hooked baits work best when fishing picky tuna. The second picture shows where to place your hook. The baits pictured are also a prime example of what a bad bait looks like, taking your time and selecting a good healthy bait will get you more bites.

Today we had a good morning hit on the better grade tuna. Once the sun came up the tuna were still there and biting, but the skip jack moved in as well. Eventually it settled into a pick on the great grade tuna through the skip jack. We also had some Grouper and large Yellowtail mixed in.
We will be in search of Wahoo tomorrow.

The Pacifica out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA checked in with limits of Yellowfin Tuna (110) and two nice Bluefin to on their Overnight trip with 22 anglers.

103 yellowfin 12 yellowtail 1 skipjack. After hours of driving without hardly seeing a scale we found the right school at the right time. Never give up!

Tuesday Dec 4 looks to be the best weather window for those folks looking to fish with us. If yellowtail are unavailable we will target cod in 180-400 ft. Before anyone freaks out, this picture was taken a long time ago and was on a Comercial boat fishing in legal US waters. Come prepared for yellowtail and bottom fish.

The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego,CA checked in with us today:
Besides the air temperature it almost felt like summer today. Hopscotched schools of yellowtail all day long. Ended up with 102 yellowtail from 12-20lbs. Yo-yo jigs and dropper looped sardines worked best.
