Nice mixed bag of yellowtail ,barracuda and kelp bass for our 27 anglers today.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-27-2016 Thanks again for checking in. We arrived nice and early to the tuna grounds to get ourselves in the best position for the days work. Shortly after first light we decided where we wanted to get things going. It started off quite slow as the conditions weren't just right. We lacked current which is not favorable to catching fish so it became a little bit of a waiting game. That gave Chef Mike his time to get breakfast out of the way. Not too long after we got mobile and did some looking around and finally started checking out some different schools and began scratching away at a few bluefin. They were in the 18 lb class which is not bad at all. As the day progressed, we found the spot that looked the best and posted up, getting a solid chum line going, got the balloons out and settled in. The fish slowly started popping up with some bluefin in the 70 lb class hitting the deck as well as Marilyn landing her first ever balloon fish and first yellowfin at about 70 lbs. Congrats on that one!! The rest of the afternoon was a steady pick on that beautiful grade of tuna. You couldn't ask for a better way to end a 3 day trip. As soon as we landed our last 2 nice bluefin, one being Theresa's 75 lb "dream fish", it was time to pack it up and head home for San Diego. Official weight of this beauty is 217.5 lbs. sinker rig and 60 lb. To catch a fish like this on a local boat without trolling is simply amazing. Congrats to the best crew I have ever had.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-12-2016 It was a good day today, a lot of traveling and we got a few fish. All and all everybody had a good day in good weather relaxing and had time to make new acquaintances as well as renew old ones. Team Supreme

Aug. 30

Not to much to report from the Polaris Supreme today. We did a tiny bit of fishing this morning. We were seeing little dabs of yellowfin where we were and the boats below us were seeing the same thing. Just a little bit of fish scattered around and stops for not much so we wound in the jigs and put the blinders up and traveled down the rest of the day. We did our wahoo seminar mid morning and after that it was a leisure day. Some slept, some made wire leaders and some just kicked back and enjoyed the lovely weather. Man oh man was it nice out today. Flat calm seas, super light breeze and warm. August must be coming to an end and we welcome that. What a cold windy month for us out here. Our speed has been poor and it's looking like we won't be arriving to our destination until after lunch.

This is amazing we have fished 6 days out of 6 days. We fished 4 days in California and 2 days in Mexico and caught over half a dozen different game species. We wrapped up today in California fishing Bluefin and Yellowfin with good success. The top 3 fish at the scales will be bluefin. Thanks Tom Chaparro and gang for a great trip. Good evening everyone, Today we had a great day of yellowtail fishing. It was by no means a slam dunk. However our persistence paid off. The fish never seemed to settle into a certain part of the water column. The bottom dropper loop, mid water flyline with sliding sinker, and strait fly line with no weight were all working at different times. We were able to get everyone some yellows on the boat. All the yellowtail were excellent quality. 18-30 lbs, cant complain about the size! Tomorrow we are going after yellowfin tuna. Wish us luck! Team supreme
