                We had very good wahoo fishing today. We caught a lot of wahoo.  You don't see it much better then what we had today.  At least for a few hour window there.  We got our scratch on early, then we got our catch on mid to early afternoon, and then we went back to scratching till dark.  It was good.  I think I may of seen it better, I probably have in 15 years but this was pretty darn close to as good as I've seen, again, at least for that few hour window mid morning. 

 

                As much as myself and the rest of everyone on board would love to stay here another day, the wind is coming.  We'd have good weather tomorrow but we'd have to seriously pay for it on the ride home if we stayed.  So we're headed across to the Cedros area and we're expecting good weather during the ride across.  Who knows, maybe we'll find a kelp for some dorado and more wahoo tomorrow morning.  If not, we should be fishing for yellows by or after lunch tomorrow. 

                                                                                               

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 08-07-2012

Absolutely gorgeous flat calm weather today. And that was the key to pulling the rabbit out of the hat at the end of the day. Definitely a slow start from morning through mid-day. But in the afternoon it was game on, on light breezers of yellowfin tuna. The schools probably only held 50 fish each and were really, really hard to see. Just barely making the lightest ripple on the water. The challenge of it made it really fun for Drew and I trying to spot them. Especially since they immediately bum rushed the boat when we slid on them. And everybody hooked one right off the bat. If you were quick, you got two before it was all over. And then off we were to find another school. The fast pace was very exciting after the last two days of plunker fishing. We fished late so we will have a late arrival tomorrow, probably around 9:00 am. We will get out an update on jackpot contenders and then for the next 3-day, Captain Drew will be out with the Prince of Words, Richie, doing the updates.

Team Supreme

We're on our way home after an absolutely great day of fishing," said Mike Pritchard. "We ended up with 136 Bluefin tuna, 8 Dorado, 6 Yellowtail and 50 Skipjack. It was very, very good fishing for a 1 Day trip.

"We are leaving on a 1.5 Day trip tonight that is sold out. But there is room on Suday night's 1.5 Day trip. If you are interested give Seaforth Landing a call at 619-224-3383."

We had a couple hours of very good dropper loop yellowtail fishing on 25-35 pound fish in the morning. When that slowed we stayed busy with smaller grade tuna and the occasional mahi. We made a tour and got the anchor back down around lunch time and had the same action but with an occasional larger model tuna being hooked. We hooked 10 and landed 4 50-60 pounders. After dinner the few that still had the energy to fish all caught several more of those big yellows before we took off at 10:00. We're now spending the day traveling up the line and will be arriving to finish up the trip at Guadalupe Island for a day and a morning.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we had 20 passengers fishing at the Coronado Islands. We had 8 Yellowtail and 25 Rockfish. We saw a decent sign of Yellowtail but they only bit for a short time. They were biting on the YoYo iron but you should also bring a rod to fly-line too! Captain Ryan Bostian checked in with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in Mission Bay, CA.  We had 18 passengers today catch 12 Bluefin Tuna (60 to 80 pounds).   We landed 1/2 the fish we hooked today.  We also caught 3 Yellowtail.  We recommend the flat-fall jig with a two-speed reel loaded with spectra and a short 60 to 80 pound fluorocarbon leader.  You have also be prepared with a 25 to 35 pound live bat outfit for the kelps.
