salmon river Fishing Report 2024

We had some good fishing on the yellows today around 12-18 pounds with some at 25 lbs. We released 100's of smaller ones.

There was plenty of action. The guys are having a great time. Our weather is ok not great, not bad. There is a little bit better sign of albacore. They are improving from what it has been recently. We will fish the yellowtail again tomorrow and save the last couple of days for tuna fishing. For dinner we had turkey breast with sausage bread stuffing and a sage wine sauce. So goodnight and wish us good luck for tomorrow!

Wow what a crazy sky this evening here along the Baja coast! Yesterday we departed on our annual AHI 7 day charter. The AHI charter has been around for 23 years and going strong! Today the charter spent the day rigging up, relaxing, and unwinding to a great selection of music, complete with a special outfitted sound system here aboard Polaris Supreme for this charter. It is a truly enjoyable atmosphere here, and the weather could not be better to go with it. We are all rigged up and ready for our first day of wahoo fishing tomorrow morning. Wish us luck! Hello everyone Today the water is noticeably warmer and cleaner than yesterday. We started off the day fishing for tuna. The grade was still that better sized fish 13-25 lbs. It just did not bite in the volume that we were hoping for, still great action though. In between anchor jobs we trolled around for Wahoo. Picking one off here and there, keeping things interesting. We feel that we are content with the tuna we have on board and are in search of more Wahoo tomorrow. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

Oct. 12

Well we had a super busy day aboard the Polaris Supreme today. It all began at 4:00 a.m. when the crew woke up and started pulling our catch of cows and wahoo out of the fish holds. We tied up dockside at 6:00, off loaded all the passengers gear and then the fish. It was a long process. We got everything up to the top of the docks and then came the weigh in. I believe we ended up with 16 over 200 pounds and the one we taped at 297 ended up being just that. Damn. 3 pounds off. What a bummer? It was still a personal best for our friend George. Way to go sir.

After that there was a big work list to be done to prepare for the next trip but we got ur done and departed on Joe Gigliotti's 3rd annual Accurate sponsored 8 day trip this afternoon. We got a good load of bait and we're currently in route to the bluefin grounds. There was a couple of lucky boats today and many wiffs but we're going to try and get lucky tomorrow. It sure would be nice to get the sweat off on some 40-60 pound b.f.'s tomorrow let me tell you. So that's it. Good weather, good food and good company. Mostly regulars on this trip. There's only a couple of new faces. We'll keep you posted.

The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego, CA finished the day with176 Yellowfin Tuna, 1 Yellowtail & 1 Skipjack.

Boots or waterproof shoes are highly recommended.

25 pass. 17 bluefin 16 yellowfin. Most bluefin were 30-50lbs. The savvy angler would bring a 20lb rod and a 30-40lb rod with assortment of hooks from size 4-2/0. We are very light on reservations all next week. Call 619-224-3383 and make those resos. Bluefin is way better than turkey for Thanksgiving.

16 yellowtail 150 calico bass 36 barracuda 65 whitefish 32 sheepshead. Very fun mixed bag fishing in shallow water.
