Polaris Supreme Trip Report 10-24-2019 We had another log jam today on the kelp patties. Another great day of fishing Wahoo and what a beautiful grade of fish! Some real beauties in their. They look more like alligators than Wahoo. They definitely act like alligators when you hook one. We also had a good hit on the yellowfin tuna again this afternoon. The grade of fish was more like 20 to 45 it wasn't all 45 pounders. But still a good grade of fish! Were finished up in the lower zone here and need to start working north. Stayed late today so we will probably only have a few hours of fishing tomorrow if any looking for some yellowtail up the coast. Weather is still epic. We also spent about a half hour today catching and releasing beautiful grade Dorado. We didn't keep any! Will check in with you tomorrow on our way home after a short try for yellowtail. 61 yellowtail. Never had the big blow out we were looking for but scratched a day out on a handful of kelps.

44 pass. 156 yellowtail 17 barracuda 5 kelp bass. Flylined bait, surface iron and yo-yo. Passports required.

Capt Matt just called in with 45 plus Yellowfin Tuna for just 13 anglers.  Very good fishing.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-26-2018 Our early departure paid off today! We were able to get into the island early enough to get the tuna located and get a good bite on them in the afternoon. The fish were mostly 60 to 80 pound range, maybe a few bigger. Our big fish was 145 pounds! One of the guys got three several guys got two and most everybody else got a least one. Our weathers great, we have a great group of passengers and were all having a wonderful time. Will check in with you tomorrow! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-18-2013

 

Where, oh where are the fish hiding? We traveled in a northerly direction all day, prospecting in some very fishy-looking water, without much success. Nice, clean, warm water too. That's why it's called "fishing" and not "catching". We stayed within view of the Baja coast virtually the entire day. Very, very rugged and remote coastline, with the occasional extremely small village, and/or primitive fishing "camp". Many discussions on the boat about how these spots get their water, fuel, food, etcetera in order to live. Our route also put us in a position to have to dodge what seemed like hundreds of lobster traps dotting the immediate coast.

Our weather finally kicked up a notch, after spoiling us for the past eight days. Nothing major, but heading uphill with a fifteen knot breeze is making for an interested ride. I suppose the best description for now would be "bumpy". A nicely presented dinner of filet mignon with crabcakes, potatoes, and asparagus was served, along with a raspberry sorbet for dessert. We'll continue the hunt for some yellowtail on our way home, as this trip winds down.

We'll check back later, hopefully with some positive results from our prospecting. Mike would like to wish his lovely wife Jenny a very happy anniversary. We don't know exactly what time our arrival will be at the dock on Wednesday morning, but if you're meeting the boat, give Susan a call at the office on Tuesday night for an update, and a more accurate ETA.
