Hello everyone, Today we targeted Yellowtail along the Baja coast. The numbers were not what we wanted but we were able to tag some Yellows and good grade bottom fish while we looked around. Today was the furthest south we could have possibly fished on this 3 day, so tomorrow we will fish offshore closer to home. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Good evening everyone. We departed earlier this evening for our second annual Optima charter with Garth and his best of buddies. We loaded up on some bait that doesn't look all that stellar but maybe after it settles down, they'll turn into some champions. Anyhow, we're on our way down to try our hand at some Bluefin tuna offshore and some Yellowtail on kelps. Apparently, the Yellowtail are growing a little bit, if you can locate the right kelp as one of our code boats did, and caught some 'tails in the 15-22 lb. range. Regardless, we'll be looking first thing tomorrow morning and we'll try to make a day of it. Our weather is beautiful and we're looking for more. Wish us luck.

 

With the weather forecast looking good and a favorable moon phase. We have decided to switch back to offshore fishing. These trips will be limited to 44 pass and do not require passports. Come prepared with a 25 lb bait rod, a 40 or 50 lb bait rod and a 60 or 80 lb rod to fish a flat fall.

TIP FROM THE CREW : Flatfalls get bit better on smaller spools, use the smallest reel you feel comfortable with. A Talica 10 or 12 2 speed or something similar is perfect. We will fish offshore until we feel there is a better option.

Capt Mike Pritchard called in from the Tribute to report fantastic Yellowfin Tuna for our 33 anglers, we have 240 fish on board and still fishing. Capt Mike Pritchard called in for the Tribute, absolutely excellent Bluefin Tuna fishing again today. We ended the day with 136 Bluefin Tuna, 36 Yellowtail and 82 giant Bonito, we had very success with the kite today. We are going to continue with our trips as long as these fish are around, we can let it go! We are changing some of our weekend trips and now will be headed out to either Cortez Banks or Tanner Banks where ever the Bluefin are. Ryan Bostian called in with this report for the San Diego. "We went out on an offshore fishing trip with 18 anglers. We caught full Mexican limits of Yellowtail. We had limits real early in this trip. It took us 2 or 3 kelps to catch the limits. We spent the rest of the day looking around for Tuna or Dorado. We managed to catch 6 Dorado. We saw some Bluefin tuna but we were unable to get it to bite. Things are looking good down here guys. We're fishing 20 to 40 miles from home. The fishing action is right in our wheelhouse in terms of distance.

20 pass. 33 yellowtail plenty of reds and rockfish. Yo yo lures were the top producers however we did catch a few on flyline sardines and surface iron.
