lake st clair perch Fishing Report 2024

The goal at the beginning of this week was to find a new area of fish. Last weekend we started to see signs of our area drying up so on Monday we decided to go looking for new fish. While our fish count did not show success (1 yellowtail) I was very happy with the day because of all the water we were able to eliminate. On Tuesday we went out with 17 anglers and put what we learned on Monday to good use. Our fish count for the day was 20 dorado and 48 yellowtail. The dorado we caught were 10-20 pounders and the yellows were 5-15 pounders. Wednesday and Thursday we sat at the dock due to bad weather. Fridays fish count for 30 anglers was 42 yellowtail. Capt. Ray took over on Saturday and came back to the dock with 27 yellowtail. The next 4 days will determine what we do with our schedule. If the offshore fish are still available in November we will stick with our 5:30-7:00 offshore schedule. If the offshore fish go away we will switch over to 7:00 - 4:00 local fishing. I will keep everybody posted.

Here we have Chad. Chad loves a good Monday bend. Especially when there is a big Guadalupe Yellowfin Tuna on the other end! 

Capt Ryan checked in last night from the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing with a report for yesterdays trip, we went out with 36 anglers. We ended up with 35 Yellowtail, we have had a few days of weather this last week and it dropped the water temperature. We had a lot of novice anglers today who caught their first ever Yellowtail. Everything worked today from dropper loop to surface irons, we caught a few each way today. Things are looking really good right now and it is rebounding nicely, come on down and see us we are running these trips everyday.

We finally got settled in here late. The fishing was good, with a lot of action and a lot of variety. Tuna was the main game in town, they started small but eventually cleaned up into a nice 18-35 lb average. Mixed in with the Tuna were some Yellowtail, Grouper, and a Wahoo. A nice mixed bag to start off with.

Fishing today was absolutely excellent! The albacore bit all day and the weather has laid down and is good. All the albies range in the 25 to 30 lb range. For lunch we had swordfish in a butter, lemon, caper cream sauce and for dinner we had a rack of lamb with a blue cheese port wine sauce. Yummy! A couple of boats headed to Guadalupe to no avail. We still have a spot here and there on some of our upcoming trips. Give Susan a call in the office if you can get away and come fish.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this evening with an update from the Tribute. Today we had limits of Lingcod with many of them over 20 pounds. The jackpot fish should be around 30 pounds. We also had limits of rockfish including some very nice reds. We did catch some nice whitefish too.The Tribute is running 1.5 day trips to Colonett every weekend departing on Friday nights. Captain Mike Pritchard called in this evening with an update. We had very good fishing for rockfish. Pretty much every bait that held the bottom produce a nice fish. We had very good fishing for rockfish. We also had a decent shot at Lingcod and Whitefish. In the afternoon the wind picked up a little bit. We will be fishing every weekend so please call Seaforth or book online. We also have a trip leaving on Tuesday night too!
