lake havasu Fishing Report 2025

We departed today on the Dan Heil Memorial charter with his son Ron Heil as charter head. It's pretty cool to see some of the old faces. Dan's charter has been with me for over 25 years. We were in a panic rush to get out and get to the local fishing grounds before dark. We got about three good hours of fishing and snagged a handful of yellowfin, a bluefin and a beautiful opah. Hello everyone, Today was spent traveling up. A great ride to end a great trip filled with a variety of fish. We would like to thank Billy Stephens for putting together such a great charter! Saturday April 13

We arrived at Hurricane Bank at 4pm and started fishing. The seven anglers on board landed 29 wahoo by dusk. After dinner they went back out for an evening bite that lasted until 3am and picked up 27 tuna ranging from 90 - 198 lbs. Three that were estimated over 200 lbs were lost. There is lots of life around here and our weather is really great. Richie is keeping a detailed daily log and will post it when we start back home.

The Polaris Supreme Crew

Captain Alyar called in last night last night with a dual update. We returned this morning from a 1.5 day trip. We ended up with limits of Bluefin Tuna. We then ran a full day trip and caught 37 Bluefin Tuna and 5 Yellowfin Tuna. The Bluefin are 15 to 40 pounds and the Yellowifn are 35 to 40 pounds.

We have a Full day trip departing Tuesday morning and a 1.5 departing on Tuesday night. Be sure to bring outfits for 25 to 50 pounds with flurocarbon leader. Right now we are using size 6 or size 4 circle hooks.

 It was a rather slow day out here for us.  Not miserably slow but it definitely could've been better.  I'll just break it down for you so you know what I call a slow day.  We caught 68 yellowtail, 4 bonito, 6 barracuda, 4 calico bass, 8 sand bass, 6 Sheepshead, 4 oceanic whitefish, 5 vermilion rock fish and 6 unspecified rock fish.  We let some go too.  We threw in the towel around 3:00.  I may have a trick up my sleeve.  I may tell you about it tomorrow.  Anyways, we left the grounds because they're calling for wind here tomorrow and we hate wind with a passion out here on the ocean.  I don't even like it on land.  We're going to a less windy spot.  I'm just not sure where yet.  Find out tomorrow. 

 The weather now is fantastic.  Very little wind and along with that comes very little sea state.  It's nice.  Steamy too.  You should see Mark's shirt.  It looks like he fell in the water.  I offered anyone 20 dollars to wear it today but I got no takers.
       

Stumbled upon a couple of biting schools and enjoyed some semi controlled chaos. 2 bluefin tuna 152 yellowfin tuna. 30 lb flyline bait was perfect again today.

11 Yellowtail, 4 Yellowfin and a #147 Bluefin. Nice day for Brandon and his friends. 

15 anglers, 27 yellowtail from 12-20 lbs and lots of big bonito. Yo yo jigs and surface iron on 40 lb mono.
