Trip wrap up: It was a hell of a trip with a great group of guys, with great tackle from Accurate and great food from Shawn. Yes we had some nausea from hurricane Paul but that's something you have to deal with sometimes in long range sportfishing. Thank you so much Mr. Joe Gigliotti and The staff at Accurate for letting us use and lend out your Accurate tackle.

Jackpot goes as follows: Dale Goss took 1st with a 52.6 pound wahoo, pizza man Joey G. took 2nd with a 50.4 pound yellowfin tuna (I told you Joe), and Gary Rogers took 3rd with a 40.2 pound yellowfin tuna. An Honorable mention goes out to Steve Lowe for his 56.4 pound wahoo he caught on the troll.

 

Today we left with our good friend George Davis and his group of dudes on a 14 day trip. Yup, a glory run going down down down. Our bait was fair and seems to be swimming in circles in the tanks and not dying off so that's good. We rigged up our rods and reels today taking our time because we have some time with some travel days ahead of us. We haven't had a true departure travel day for a long time now and I have to say it's nice not being in a rush to get everything done at once. There were some movies played today and a lot of sleep going down in the staterooms. Chef Shawn put out a nice little Sushimi snack that went down quick. Tomorrow we'll do our tackle fishing seminar for Wahoo after breakfast and then I'm sure there will be more movies and naps in everyones future. Travel days are nice. Can you say 1492 and Titos ! P.S. We may loose satellite phone service on Wednesday and if we do we will try to keep you updated through Susan via the Radio and have her type up the reports and email them out.

Trip departs June 6th 6pm Returns June 12th 6am

Wow, I think we have to pinch ourselves to make sure it's real. We had an unbelievable day. You could throw a bait in the water any time from day break to dark and catch a tuna. Some anglers released as many as 15 tuna in the 35-45 lb. class. We also scratched a few wahoo. After a delicious dinner of a veal shank, fresh asparagus and red potatoes all our guys and one lady went to bed very tired. Our weather is gorgeous and we are looking forward to another fantastic day tomorrow. Thanks for checking in. Tommy and crew P.S. Captain Ryan Bostian checked in tonight with some photos. We have caught four Bluefin Tuna (115, 108, 103 and 101). You need to make sure you bring the correct gear. CURRENT TACKLE RECOMMENDATION
A Shimano Talica 12 or 16 two speed filled with 65 or 80 lb spectra. Connected to 5 feet of 80 or 130 lb flouro and a 250 gram flatfall. A sinker bait rig fished with a Talica 16 or 20 two speed filled halfway with 80 lb spectra than topped off with 60 or 80 lb mono to a short leader of 80 lb flouro. A 2/0 or 3/0 circle hook and a 4-6 oz torpedo sinker.

Polaris Supreme Trip Reports 08-03-2016 Today's trip has us departing on Henry Hampton's four-day trip. This is Henry's second year chartering the boat and it looks like he has quite a few new anglers. One thing about them looks the same though there are excited to get out and get at some good quality fishing. So off we go! We left the bait receivers with some of the most ratty bait that we've seen all year. Luckily we have a good supply in our center slammer that we have been rat holing for a few trips now. Departing this afternoon judging our options we have decided to try a little something different there is some new good-looking water and signs of yellows in a new area. As always happens the old areas are drying up fast. We have good weather today and a forecast of good weather tomorrow wish us luck. The Polaris Supreme crew!

Myself and the crew would like to thank everyone who joined us for this past season. 2016 will forever be remembered as one of the most unique years. From huge schools of non biting yellowfin tuna to foamers of big bluefin that enjoyed eating surface poppers. This season proves that none of us know anything about the ocean. We will shut down for a month or so to handle our annual maintenance. We look forward to fishing with everyone again in 2017.

Captain RJ Hudson checked in this evening with an update from the New Seaforth out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today on our afternoon trip we had 17 anglers catch 1 Halibut (up to 25 pounds), 1 Whitefish, 17 Rockfish, and 75 Vermilion Rockfish. Captain Mike Pritchard checked in this afternoon with an update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We are currently on a 1.5 day trip with 10 anglers. We have limits of Bluefin Tuna (20) up to 70 pounds. We also have some Yellowtail too. The Tribute is ONLINE at Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA.
