flinders Fishing Report 2025

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this morning at 6:02 AM with an update from yesterday’s trip aboard the San Diego!  We are on our way out Saturday morning.  We had a good trip yesterday.  We went out with 36 passengers and we caught 15 Bluefin Tuna.  Two of the Bluefin were 60 to 65 pounders.  The rest were 30 to 35 pounders.  There are also some bigger ones jumping around out there.  We also had a kelp for 74 Yellowtail and 26 big Bonito.

We are heading out right now there is a slight wind lump.  Call Seaforth now at (619) 224-3383 to get in on the action.

Bring a flat-fall rig and a bait stick.  We recommend a heavy stick for fat-fall and a 2 speed reel with 60 to 80 pound spectra and a short top shot.

Hello everyone, Today we had a hit on the better grade Bluefin Tuna. They were 30-40lbers, beautiful fish. There was also some Yellowtail and Yellowfin mixed in as well. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to catch some Bluefin to add some variety and size to the fish hold. Will report again later, Team Supreme

Hello Supreme fans. We have finally hit our stride and started fishing.Unfortunately it happened to be right in the midst of some extremely tough fishing. Our first trip of the year was an Open party three day trip. We spent the three day searching the ocean for biting tuna as well as some inshore action. The tuna fishing was really slow but full of lots of spots of fish, and they were BIG. Bluefin well into the 150 lb class were around but not biting. We chipped away at some inshore fish and were able to put together a nice catch of quality Reds and Lingcod from the bottom. However the star of the show was hands down the jackpot fish. A 130lb Bluefin Tuna, a hard earned fish that ended in victory! These fish were big and did not make it easy to hook them or land them. Their size, abrasive teeth, and unwillingness to bite created quite the challenge.We did managed to hook 5 fish and only landed one. We are out on a two day after Independence day. Wish us Luck! Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-18-2013

 

Where, oh where are the fish hiding? We traveled in a northerly direction all day, prospecting in some very fishy-looking water, without much success. Nice, clean, warm water too. That's why it's called "fishing" and not "catching". We stayed within view of the Baja coast virtually the entire day. Very, very rugged and remote coastline, with the occasional extremely small village, and/or primitive fishing "camp". Many discussions on the boat about how these spots get their water, fuel, food, etcetera in order to live. Our route also put us in a position to have to dodge what seemed like hundreds of lobster traps dotting the immediate coast.

Our weather finally kicked up a notch, after spoiling us for the past eight days. Nothing major, but heading uphill with a fifteen knot breeze is making for an interested ride. I suppose the best description for now would be "bumpy". A nicely presented dinner of filet mignon with crabcakes, potatoes, and asparagus was served, along with a raspberry sorbet for dessert. We'll continue the hunt for some yellowtail on our way home, as this trip winds down.

We'll check back later, hopefully with some positive results from our prospecting. Mike would like to wish his lovely wife Jenny a very happy anniversary. We don't know exactly what time our arrival will be at the dock on Wednesday morning, but if you're meeting the boat, give Susan a call at the office on Tuesday night for an update, and a more accurate ETA.

The Voyager returned this morning with 13 Bluefin Tuna and 5 Yellowfin Tuna. They landed a couple of monster Bluefin, with the largest weighing in at 298 pounds! Congratulations to Captain Todd and the passengers and crew of the Voyager.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-21-2016 Hello Readers, Today was another beautiful day on the water. Fishing was tough but we made a day out of it. It was definitely quality over quantity today. We are all very optimistic about what tomorrow has in stock for us! Thanks for reading, Team Supreme
